The Republican Party is the Coyote Party.... |
|
They drank heavily and partied thru the night and then they woke up with a headache. They looked over to the other side of the bed and they saw George W Bush. Their arm was wrapped around him tightly and they wondered what they had done the night before? Fear and apprehension hit them like a mugger in the night. What do they do now? Only one option. Chew off their arm and escape like a coyote from a trap.

1. Wait till They See the Tattoo . . . |

I'm figuring there will be assassinations and scandals, starting in about six months. Cheney will declare himself Generalissimo, he'll leave Chimp in place as his marionette, and moderate Pub's will become desaparecidos.

2. Oh would that it were so. |

But listen to them. They're so proud of themselves, you could probably see their smugness from outer space. And losing their jobs or their kids in Iraq won't change anything. They'll blame everything in the world, starting with us and Bill Clinton, before they'll blame Bush.

Just for once I'd like to see the Democratic party try to exercise a little grace and dignity in defeat. Sure it sucks to lose to someone we have no respect for but comments like this are the problem with the party. Let's focus on our own problems...and by the way, republicans aren't the only ones who drink and end up in bed with a dud. Didn't we nominate John Kerry? I've been drinking ever since.

You use your grace and dignity, I will not be their victim, our platform was the popular platform.

It's about time some astute person figured out that the problem with the Democratic party is a lack of "grace and dignity."
We should look to the opposition for examples of how to achieve this. When Republicans were angry about Bill Clinton having the nerve to win elective office, efforts like the Arkansas Project and the Starr Report just oozed with grace and dignity. If there's anyone who knows how to accept defeat with a manly, good-natured chuckle, it's the right. Look at the jovial back-slapping and comraderie shown by the pasty lads who conducted the riot-for-hire to stop the recount in Florida. I just can't decide which they had more of: Grace, or Dignity? And when the French didn't fall in line over Iraq, the thwarted Republicans didn't kick and scream and hold their breath 'til they turned blue. Only supremely graceful and dignified adults would have come up with "Freedom Fries."
