***LIST OF COMPANIES TO AVOID..... it starts NOW***
At DU we have an amazing resource at our disposal, lets make it work for us. GET LOCAL and start posing and organizing in your states DU forum.

We need an organized list of all companies that need to be avoided (AND CONTACTED)...

It worked with Sinclair... It will work in your state too. Especially, with the smaller local companies. Contact the companies and they will do the work for us, calling the radio station and such, pulling their $$$… Bling Bling! I do the marketing for a small company, believe me IT WILL WORK... and it’s easier than you think! Let our voices be heard and they will be forced to give us the radio shows WE want to hear... we need EQUAL time.

Shops, Radio stations (anyone that runs ads during Rush and other right wing radio brainwashing shows) etc. We need to start contacting these companies that place ads during Rush and other assbag shows like his.... Follow-up with flyers around your town, local organized efforts will get this accomplished.

IT STARTS NOW… lets turn your town, county, state, BLUE. At DU, we have an amazing resource at our disposal, lets make it work for us. Post this in your states DU forum.

1. This isn't a 'fond hope'; it could be quite effective.
The targets have to be picked carefully so they can't plead "innocence", but outfits like Sinclair could be "Dixie-Chicked". It didn't seem to have worked too well against the Dixie-Chicks, but it could be very effective against outfits with angry/fearful stockholders.

Here's something I found here on DU a week ago, and bears taking to heart:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that I have more time, I will post some, too. But
today I want to share something inspiring, part of a
letter from Thomas Jefferson. This is from the new
Bernstein biography of Jefferson. Jefferson sent the
letter in 1798 after the passage of the Sedition Act:

"A little patience, and we shall see the reign of
witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the
people, recovering their true sight, restore their
government to its true principles. It is true that in
the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and
incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of
enormous public debt. If the game runs sometimes
against us at home we must have patience till luck
turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of
winning back the principles we have lost, for this is
a game where principles are at stake."
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall a discussion here that it was submitted by Mrs. Edwards.

PS: Here's a phrase I've been using lately on my Union's BBS & Listserves: "Stand UP for Unions, or Bend OVER for Bush!"

2. ....I like that "Dixie-Chicked"
Great slogan for the Union too... I did hear Mrs. Edwards on C-SPAN saying she does like to read from the DU site.

Im working on getting Rush off of my local radio station or at least get us some equal time... Trying to get "Democracy Now" on the radio and I think it's REALLY going to happen. All the producers want it, if they can prove to the station manager that the public wants to hear it... IT'S ON! Next step is to Rush removal... My buddy was running an ad for his company on the local radio station. When I was listening to that station I heard his ad being played during Rush... Later than week he called the station and pulled the ad. SCORE!!! Now for the other companies!!!

3. Wonderful
It's good to see that we are organizing and using our DU resource wisely.

I see more threads talking about Scott Peterson than threads that try to get us working together and networking to get things done.... I think it's kinda sad.

5. Here is a list already in the works
This is a partial list, with links to the corporate parent where mutliple brands are concerned. The initial list appeared elsewhere, and I've refined it a bit. More is being added. Thanks to Timbuk3 for the help.
