'Abu Musab al-Zarqawi' escapes... again
Operation Fajr (Dawn) has been achieved and only the malignant pockets remain that we are dealing with through a clean-up operation," Qassem Daoud, secretary of state for national security, told a Baghdad press conference.

He said that Zarqawi, whose supporters had made Fallujah their base, and a militant cleric who was one of his top aides had slipped through their fingers.

"Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and Abdullah Junabi have fled," Daoud said, "leaving their supporters to taste death."

It's very interesting that a dead man who is missing a leg could escape from Fallujah. Let's see here:

Fallujah was surrounded by all sides by American and Iraqi forces.

American forces watched all who entered and left Fallujah.

If this does not prove Zarqawi is a myth and not a man, I don't know what will.

2. Shocking.
They talked about the invasion of Fallujah for a month before doing it.

Even if he was dead and missing a leg he still could have gotten out in time.

4. It would really damage the impact of the 2 minute hate
As usual, the face of Emmanuel Goldstein, the Enemy of the People, had flashed on to the screen. There were hisses here and there among the audience. The little sandy-haired woman gave a squeak of mingled fear and disgust. Goldstein was the renegade and backslider who once, long ago (how long ago, nobody quite remembered), had been one of the leading figures of the Party, almost on a level with Big Brother himself, and then had engaged in counter-revolutionary activities, had been condemned to death, and had mysteriously escaped and disappeared. The programmes of the Two Minutes Hate varied from day to day, but there was none in which Goldstein was not the principal figure. He was the primal traitor, the earliest defiler of the Party's purity. All subsequent crimes against the Party, all treacheries, acts of sabotage, heresies, deviations, sprang directly out of his teaching. Somewhere or other he was still alive and hatching his conspiracies: perhaps somewhere beyond the sea, under the protection of his foreign paymasters, perhaps even -- so it was occasionally rumoured -- in some hiding-place in Oceania itself.

6. Not bad for a dead guy. Our very own Goldstein.
Of course, Americans are so stupid they will swallow this guy being responsible for every anti-American move made in the 21st century, even though he is dead.

8. personally I think al-Zarqawi is some non-existent mythic figurehead
Our government knows that creating this boogeyman is easier for the sheep to relate to and accept, rather than a broad based insurgency.

10. Well, considering the corruption of the Iraqi police forces,
I could see how he managed to slip through, he is related to Al Qaida, right? They have money, and could have easily bribed the police forces for a safe way out.
