Alternative History Question (Re Oklahoma City and the Murrah Building |
|
Bombing)
I just wondered where the good people of Oklahoma City would have voted had a certain bombing of a certain Federal Building happened on *'s watch rather than on Clinton's, heck I even wondered how the ENTIRE STATE of Oklahoma would have voted in that case.
I just couldn't help but wonder about that since someone I knew indirectly in the States told me that ALL the areas affected by the "incidents" of September 11th (as in NY,DC, NJ, PA et al.) went DEMOCRATIC.

1. well, I've heard stories |
|
About Bush 41 resettling Iraqis after the first Gulf War in Oklahoma. I guess it was mostly from "fringe" sites and radio shows. But it's something to consider in these increasingly bizarre times we live in.

3. I haven't even thought about this stuff in a long time |
|
But more and more it seems it might be relevant to the situation we face today.

For Oklahoma to go Democratic in a Presidential election, so many variables will have to be changed the task seems too tremendous to contemplate. (We voted for LBJ. Since then, not even close really.) The start would be kicking the entire Democraty Party organization out of the state and importing some people with a sense of national purpose, but I digress ...
People around here actually responded pretty well to Clinton after the bombing. He came here, and Keating(R), our governor at the time, embraced his visit. Clinton was extremely respectful, went out of his way to be respectful in fact, openly wept at the memorial service at a moment that wasn't intended to be caught by cameras, and most of all actually took measures not to use the event as a photo-op. (Contrast that ... well, you know.)
And then of course Clinton got a blow job, and Okies hated him again. (I think they were jealous ... too many of 'em having to rely on their sheep I think.)
