The bible says "The love of money is the root of all evil"
And yet, much of modern Christianity teaches:

The love of money is good.

Sex is the root of all evil.

How did this come to be?

1. Money is the root of all evil.
The Biblical writer wanted to have it both ways.

Much good it did the rest of us, he was probably extremely wealthy.

5. The Church Teaches God Will Bless and Prosper Those Who Follow
And Scripture teaches that the love of money is the root of all evil.

Seems to me that the two are mutually exclusive and the church has perverted the message of Scripture.

11. What gets me is
who decided that blessings were supposed to be liquid assets?

This seems to me to be completely counter to the Christian faith. Go figure :P

6. you know what's interesting?
(I think anyway)...
Sex is used to make money. You know? "Sex sells" like crazy, like nothing else. They use sex to sell EVERYTHING, and we all (well a lot of us) buy into it. Especially when we're young.

In this society sex and money are so intertwined by media, etc

7. And then
God/Allah/Jehova/Yaweh/Goddess of Willendorf created the Republicans. A very unAmerican, unPatriotic, hypocritical, vile, and hateful species. Actually, He/She/It allowed the TRUE Republicans to mutate. So much for evolution.

8. Notice
it's the "LOVE" of money, as you have correctly quoted, not money itself.

This is something we have gotten woefully wrong, agreed!

Gotta go to church now (Wed. night, ya know), but I am working on ways to get the message out. :) And dang it if I don't keep finding more ways to give away "my" money -- that as a Christian I don't really see as mine at all, but, just like talents or anything else, as an investment from God he's given me as Trustee, only, to use for Him.

9. And on the eighth day, God created...
...Republicans.

And God said to Adam, "From henceforth, whenever thou wantest to taste from the Tree of Knowledge, the Republicans will rebuke thee for thine sin and will threaten to cast ye out of Eden unless thou granteth them the movie and book rights to thine sinful life and pay them unGodly rent and finders fees."

10. So Called Christians, you mean.
Jesus would denounce them as Pharasees who can't even READ thier own rulebook.

There is a difference between the Religious Reich and Christians. They have stolen the word and use it for propaganda.
