Has anyone else heard about a stolen crop dusting plane?
I just heard on Scarborough that a crop dusting plane was stolen on November 1. I missed where it was stolen from, but they are talking about protecting the borders.

I'm a news junkine and somehow I missed this. Anyone else hear about this?

They also said the plane was not found.

Perhaps this was just one of those stories they didn't cover very much?

1. I tuned out when they devoted most of the program to the
NFL - Desperate Housewives promotion. You would have thought OBL had dropped his drawers and mooned us.

around on the internet since 9-11.

6. I think this was a well publicized story....
one link: http://www.time.com/time/press_releases/article/0,8599,782089,00.html

"And another episode has some senior U.S. officials worried: the theft of a crop-duster aircraft south of San Diego, apparently by three men from southern Mexico who assaulted a watchman and then flew off in a southerly direction. Though the theft’s connection to terrorism remains unclear, a senior U.S. law-enforcement official notes that crop dusters can be used to disperse toxic substances. The plane, stolen at night two weeks ago, has not been recovered."

9. Crop dusting in itself is toxic enough. My
late husband was a cropduster in his early years in the 1950s. That stuff can make a person very ill. An I bet it could spray anthrax all over the place.

12. Some text from a .pdf issued by the Dept. of Homeland Security:
"On November 1, 2004, a crop dusting aircraft was stolen from Ejido Queretaro, near Mexicali, Mexico. Although there is currently no indication that this has any connection to terrorist activity, the theft is cause for concern. Past information indicates that members of al-Qa’ida may have planned—or may still be planning—to disperse biological or chemical agents from crop dusting aircraft. The stolen aircraft has been identified as a Piper PA 25, Pawnee, and is similar to one depicted below. It is registered in Mexico and bears the tail number XBCYP."

The picture from the .pdf isn't coming through.
