Did anybody catch the FDA hearings regarding the flu vaccine

shortage? I just caught a clip that was shown on CNN. You see this very uncomfortable white man squirming in his seat as a voice off camera is barking, "Did you, or did you not make a mistake?" The white man resists answering the question. Finally, the camera pans to the man behind the voice and you see a commanding black man looking down at FDA rep. (I think his name was Congressman Cummings? A Dem) And he says to the rep, I have to go back to my district and explain to them why there was a shortage. Now was there a mistake made so that we can correct it so it doesn't happen again?

The answer: Yes, we made a mistake. We didn't pass the report on in time to do something about it.

Now, that's what a real democracy looks like. A minority is sometimes stronger, when it has nothing left to lose. If we're going to be treated like animals, let us be fearsome animals!

1. There were a lot more heated discussions than that one.

I didn't watch the whole thing, but saw about 1 1/2 hrs on a cspan re-run in the wee hrs this morning. There was another dem congressman pushing a rep of some company who is looking for the feds to buy the vaccines for all school children, and pay for any vaccine that has to be thrown away at the end of the season. The congressman asked the rep "If you expect the taxpayers to make you rich, what are they getting back from you? What risks are YOU going to take to repay the taxpayer for their support?"

It didn't sound like anybody was getting much of a pass from any direction.

6. I deleted it after I realized that even though it felt good to.....

unburden myself, the 4 paragraphs that I wrote really had very little to do with the subject of the thread starter.

But basically, I went on a tangent on how we as Democrats are going to get nowhere by being nice to these conservatives. We need to start treating them with as much disrespect as they have shown to us.

Also, MSM be damned! They're not going to say any positive about anything the Democrats do anyway, so Pelosi, Reid and all the other Democrats might as well start deserving the negative media spin they are bound to get anyway.

your right it was Congressman Cummings and the head of the committee a Republican poo pooed him for it maybe CNN should of showed that part too.
If only the people could of seen the contrast, Republican Congress-critters could care less and they appease the corporation over the people every time.

I will say this much the Black Caucus members always have the peoples back they have grit and are NOT afraid to stand up to the Republicans in the House!
They are the hell raising patriots in the House no pink tutu's worn among any of them that's for sure!

I agree with you if we the people are going down we do it fighting and giving the Republicans an inch will only get you screwed in the House reason it is ran like a dictatorship.
