Bank of America says F U Very Much to local hero
David Goodman, 47, helped catch a bank robbery suspect at an East Side branch Monday, and he thought he'd get a reward for his good deed.

Instead, a local Bank of America branch manager told Goodman thanks, but no money. And 88-CRIME told him his situation doesn't meet the criteria for a cash reward.

3. well, I agree with their premise that they don't want to encourage
people jumping up in the line of fire to foil a bank robbery by offering monetary rewards.

Think about it. Banks have pretty good security, lots of surveillance, and a great network for sharing info on what look like serial bank robbers.

The money is insured by FDIC. Why does someone need to risk?

Besides, I believe the person did do so out of desire to foil a crime and not money.

They should take him to lunch and give him an award for his outstanding citizenship. As should the local community.

5. I'll bet this is in the works

I agree. The article will probably inspire a grassroots movement in his community to do something nice for him.

7. I don't think he will get a reward, however...
I do think he will probably get some sort of citizen commendation, considering the guy he caught robbed 6 other banks.
To me, that has good citizen written all over it, and a bit of a hero to boot.
