Poll question: Gore/Clinton 2008?
How would you like to see that ticket?

Gore resurrecting himself, like Nixon, to come back years later and win big. And Hillary gets a place on the ticket, just like she wants. :)

22. it was actually considered ronny
Gore decided to avoid Kerry because Kerry unlike Holy Joe supported Bill whole heartily in the impeachment crisis. Clinton did the same thing in '92 but for a different reason, Kerry's liberal views made him decide against him. So Kerry has been vetted twice now, I really think Gore should have picked him because he would have been great I think. Funny eh, that Kerry who so regarded as a moderate by some here was pased over for being too liberal by Clinton and Gore.

6. No to Gore and No to Kerry. We need some new blood already...
this is what we call survival mode, hanging on to the past.

We gotta get out of survival mode. Back away people, nothing to see here, move along, people!

7. You nailed it. We should get Madonna or Oprah to run for president!
Edited on Thu Nov-18-04 07:09 PM by TwentyFive
I like the idea of fresh blood...somebody from outside elected office. Oprah Winfrey, Paul Newman, Alec Baldwin, Barbara Streisand or Warren Buffet.

People would laugh if we suported Madonna for president...but get her on TV, and all of sudden mainstream voters would see her as intelligent and well spoken. I'd don't think you can do what she's done and not have incredible brains, heart and energy. She is known and respected around the world - and is smarter than 99% of republicans.

We've got a very deep talent pool in Hollywood, and the country admires these actors. We should look there for our next president.

their opportunity....

NO TO JOMENTUM too....I would have added him to the list cuz he hasn't headed a ticket but hell, he's a Rethug, he should run on their dime, not ours.

Hollywood talent. People may think it's ludicrous - but look where Reagan and Ahnld came from?

The problem us Democrats have is that we are too brainy & policy wonkish. We need somebldy who is brainy...but also can smile, work a crowd, and deliver good one liners! Kerry, Gore, Dukakis were all great people, but they didn't have that extra ingredient.

18. I think it will be hard to find pro-war Dem's in 2008
Iraq is likely to be such a completely disaster, they'll all be running on getting out.

11. I don't think 2008 will matter much if we don't settle this fraud thing.
If the Republicans get away with stealing another election...does anyone really think things will be different in 2008???? If Bush is really elected and is president for another four years....then we NO LONGER LIVE IN A DEMOCRACY. Why play a game you can not win because the cards are marked????

Not sure if an east coaster is a good idea, but Hillary's skills are tremendous. I really don't want to see Gore run for the presidency ever again.
