I was thinking the same thing the other day. Why do so many people we need die in plane crashes, through assassination or another tragic fashion?

However, all kinds of people do get targeted for assassination, if you look at history -- the good, the bad, the heroic, the mediocre, etc.

Character assassination. Very nearly as lethal as the actual thing.

It is a profound question to ask why this is presently the preferred method of offing one's opposition rather than the traditional bullet, and why it is now so effective.....

We have mass graves of victims of character assassination in this country -- lots of fine, decent people who dared to speak out.

8. i must mention Alan Berg

the book 'talked to death' recounts how Denver's popular liberal/left talk show host Alan Berg was murdered by neonazis/white supremeists/neocons/kakaka-ers/gop-ers, repukelicans or whatever term you use for narrow minded bullies who thought killing someone with media clout a good idea when they couldn't debate him (Berg turned all the nazipoo callers into big jokes)...the group went on to rob several banks etc and the principle goof was ...oh who cares about pigs....one pig, named pierce, was in jail for the 1985(?) crime...
