1. Did they ever ask why?
In the entire report?

4. They state that it's, in large part, a direct response to Chimp's policies
and the Iraq war.

Surprisingly, they offer some prime exhibits of the foreign press bitchslapping the US. All the while, the report is surely presented to prime a "fuck them damn furrriners" attitude among the Faux faithful.

2. To any American that would believe such nonsense..
go to Sorryeverybody.com, and look at all of the kind words people around the world sent to those of us who voted for Kerry.

(not meant to be addressed to DUers, of course).

7. There is a difference between hating people and hating their policies
In other words you could so much want to get along and like someone but because they are too stupid to accept your friendship you have no choice but to hate their attitude.

10. Right. As to be critical of the sick-fuck regime in power is to be
critical of the entire nation. The right-wing propagandists (on Faux and the hate radio minions) are utterly shameful, and so obvious, in their efforts to blur these lines.

8. I caught a snippet

One line that caught my ear was the "they want to destroy our economy" comment.

Prediction: expect Faux news to keep pushing the "America's enemies want to destroy our economy" line, with growing fervor.

Then when shrub administration policies and debts come due, they'll say "it's all because our enemies have been working to destroy our economy". And the enemies will include Al Quaeda, the Chinese, Europe, the Democrats, and anyone else who hasn't toed the line.

13. Oh, the harsh irony. Recall the childish "boycott France" campaign
spearheaded by one of Faux's very own - Dildo Reilly - and other simpletons on the right.

25. THEY want to destroy our economy? Hell, we are beholden to furriners
for keeping our economy afloat while bush baby spends, spends, spends. Future generations will be paying our foreign debtors for generations for the bills our "government" incurs.

9. It's a simply a Propaganda Piece
To discredit Foreign news organization and blame them for the anti American sentiment that is occurring in other countries. I find it ironic it comes from our own propaganda Bush-co news network.

16. Isn't this what they wanted?
They voted for * precisely because he pisses the rest of the world off, and now they're upset because the rest of the world is pissed off?

Can't have it both ways, Bubba. If you vote for the redneck cowboy 'cause he'll show those cheese-eating elitists in France who's boss, don't expect the cheese-eating elitists to like it.

23. America has always been uniquely insular and creepy
History + geography.

We've just never had any political organizers (in our lifetime) who've so successfully exploited our insularity/creepiness. That's what we progressives have to fight.

It's hard work, it is.

21. It is really scary
what the people who (try to) control your thinking can do! Watching this piece is like peeking into an alternate reality being thought out by a science fiction author. I am from Europe and it has been a completely alienating experience to watch it.
And its funny how they attack the BBC for getting a part of its funding from the UK government, the same government that keeps getting praised by George Bush for taking part in his illegal slaughter going on in Iraq.

I think the American and the European realities are drifting more and more apart each day. What will be left is just bewilderment about each other.

My reality, and the reality of most DUers, is closer to the European reality than to the "reality" presented on Fox News.

26. yeah. having moved from the Heartland to New Jersey as a kid,
it took me many years for the perspective to realize that going from a mostly-rural area in Middle America to a cosmopolitan 'burb of NYC was more like moving to another country than would be moving from metro NYC to, say, Munich.

I don't know why so much of us are reticent about acknowledging our inner European. Hell, it's where a majority of us are from, originally. Europe isn't good or bad, it's just there, y'know? and it has some things about it that work well, and some that are sucky.

God forbid we should learn anything about how other industrialized nations do things well (or suckily)!

24. It wasn't 'we hate America' - it was 'Bush is wrong'
but to Fox, the two are the same, it seems. I like the way the BBC was showing 'bias' by reporting the result of a poll, and asking a right-wing American to comment on it.
