I know, probably not of much interest to anyone else but me , but my sister is working for Harper's magazine! I'm so proud of her! Putting her English degrees to good use.
I haven't been able to talk to her since the elections (they work her pretty hard apparently) but my brother-in-law tells me the atmosphere there was pretty somber after the elections.
Anyway, buy a subscription so maybe a paying position will open up and she'll get more than her "name in lights" as Michelle Mounts , Editorial intern. haha.
And to all the DU'ers keep up your great work on the Latest Breaking News section. I will be sending her stuff from here now and again for possible inclusion in Harper's.

I also admire Lewis Lapham for his tremendous essays over the years.In one such work he says: There are only two things important in life;work that provides an outlet for our creative energy and love that provides meaning to that work.That statement has stuck with me and like many words of wisdom, it remains ageless.
