1. NH.

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A recount Ralph Nader requested for some New Hampshire towns is going more slowly than expected and won’t resume until next week, state election officials said.

"It’s impossible," said Secretary of State Bill Gardner, declining to predict when the recount would end.

Assistant Attorney General Bud Fitch said recounts in Nader’s targeted precincts would not resume until at least Wednesday, virtually ensuring they won’t end until after Thanksgiving.

Election officials hoped to finish recounts in five of Nader’s 11 precincts Thursday, Gardner said. Ballot counters only finished two by 4 p.m., and had only partial returns in two others by nearly 8 p.m., when work ended for the night. The completed areas, Litchfield and Manchester’s Ward 7, showed little change from the official tallies.

3. If you can prove that allegation, then post the proof
I've kept pretty silent on this issue of where the BBV money goes and I'm tired of the pot shots taken at the expense of people who are working their butts off for our democracy.

This is not about whether you like the personalities of those involved or what's happened on this board. That is a separate issue.

As someone who recently spent two-and-a-half days at the tiny office helping to process donations that came in courtesy of Rhandi Rhodes; who knows what the staff has to work with; who camped out in that office in a sleeping bag, paid for my own parking and paid for my own meals, with one exception; who has donated over two years of time to this cause; when you make accusations like this you are also making them of me.

And as for that one- see that word, one- meal, it was at a less than stellar place to take a break, bang heads together on Florida, and get dinner down Bev, Andy and Kathleen before they embarked on the red eye. That day ended up with Bev making back-to-back, cross country flights. She was back in the office all of about 5 hours with no break to go home except to pull stuff together for the next flight out. In that 5 hours were meetings interspersed with media interviews. The phone practically never stops ringing.

If you can prove that the funds are being misspent, you go right ahead. Because the Board of Directors are pretty picky about that and they donate their time to the organization.

And if you think for one minute that people who read the messages coming with those donations, from people who despair for our country, including one heart-wrenching note from a 73 year old who doesn't think they'll see an honest election in this country before they die- don't hurt with them- then you weren't there to see the tears in our eyes.

Regardless of anything else, know that these people and Bev in particular are working 24/7 and if this was the lark that you suggest, I'd like to know why they'd do that to themselves.

You may not agree with the style or posts on DU and I'm not posting about that. But unfounded accusations of what the organization does with the donations is uncalled for.

I don't care who you donate to or who you work with on this issue. Just spend your time and money where you think it will do the most good- but do it.

Stop the baseless accusations about what BBV's donations go towards.

4. I agree, Bev is one of the few fighting for us

I just watched a CSPAN interview with the heads of CBS and ABC and one other network.

The audience was asking great questions about this election and the fraud.

The network heads all agreed that there was "nothing here, let's move on on the Fraud issue."

The questioners kept trying to say why weren't they reporting it and they all said, "there is nothing to report, we spent @@'s getting teams out to cover the election problems and they were really minor glitches."

I am still in shock, they never mentioned the lack of a paper trail, tampering possibilities etc.

This was broadcasted on 11/15/04.

They also said it was not up to them to do something about the way the elections are conducted. That was up to the people and Congress.
One used the example of the time that the exit polls were announced.
They glossed that over by saying, "Sometimes some 24 yr. old is putting up the numbers before he/she should and the station has to take it down quick." -- Nothing here let's move along

They said that they would have loved to break a story about Fraud, they got a lot of attention and $$'s from the 2000 election. So, they don't understand why the bloggers (and they put lots of blame on the bloggers) would spread all the rumors that amount to nothing.

Did anyone else see this whitewash?

6. Crap!
It has been VERY interesting to see the concerted effort to denigrate the people at BBV over the last few days. Could it be because they are endangering the profits of the black box manufacturers? I think so!

7. oh my God, it a fuckin' joke. You people need to seriously chill out.
If I were making a serious allegation would I:

a) put a smiley face at the end of it?
b) post it on a freakin internet bulletin board at 3 in the morning?

Jesus.

8. No, it is not at all clear that it is a joke
Smiley faces and time of posting don't mean a lot.

It's on a well visited board and not everyone who sees it would get the "joke" as obviously happened, and might take it seriously, which could do a lot of damage.

A (sarcasm) in parenthsesis might have cleared this up.

The issue of money and BBV by some people has been over the top.

I apologize for jumping down your throat.

Please be a little more clear about your intentions and I'll not get upset, OK?
