End of my career - PeopleSoft votes to go with Oracle.
Charming. It's not enough that congress wants to bring more foreign employees to the US. Now PeopleSoft stockholders have decided they'll sell to Oracle. Larry Ellison has stated he wants to destroy PeopleSoft so his software will be #1 or 2. Four hurricanes, one Bush, and now Peoplesoft. Great year so far. and I still have 6 weeks left.

3. Damn!
Happens I once lost a job due (by a long chain of inference) to Oracle. Big honcho wanted to replace a comprehensive mainframe based system with something "turnkey" that would run on a desktop-- SAP, which will end up cleaning everybody's clock-- despite the fact that it couldn't handle all the historical data. And of course an Oracle DBA cost twice what they were paying me, so they got rid of me and one other programmer to afford it.

Anyway, you have my sympathy.

4. Would PeopleSoft stockholders also have stocks at other
software companies?
Possible conflict of interest of some sort?
Would this surprise anyone?
