How long should a vote count go on for Governor (WA) go on?
This 'recount' is starting to get ugly with repug `lawyers coming from Wash. D.C. to bitch and complain about every little thing. The latest is about the way the votes are counted.... In King county, the votes are counted in such a way that vote that didn't pass through the voting 'machine' are then looked at ...... Tell me... wtf is wrong with that? Repugs have filed a law-suit to try and stop this vote even if IT'S DONE IN COUNTIES WHERE THE REPUGS WILL WIN, but somehow, this practice should not be valid in heavily democratic precincts! HELLO!

1. It will go on until the hand count
The Dems must request and pay for a hand count, and they MUST hold firm - this recount they are doing now are provisional votes and recounting machine totals - only a hand count will be a true test.

Judges in King Co. - better stand for democracy - every vote counts!

NO BROOKS BROTHERS REVOLT IN KING CO.

2. They have shown...
...some of the ballots that the voting machines won't read on the local news. I have to admit, I smack my forehead at the stupidity of some voters (even some of the Dem voters) who apparently just circled or entered a check next to the D or the R in the right margin of the column, and didn't bother to follow any of the instructions about filling in the little ovals with black ink. Makes you wonder how some of these people figure out how to operate a TV remote, microwave or car. Yikes. (All I can hope is that none of them commute on 405 with me, the idjuts.)

Obviously, the scanning machines can't read those marks. However, it's pretty evident what the voter's intent was in these instances (no hanging chads in this neck of the woods), and when the elections officials have run across ballots that are thusly f*cked up, they've been able to fill in the black circles, under the watchful eyes of bipartisan election observers. (Yes, they have a representative from each party watching this process.)

If the election observers haven't said boo, WTF is wrong with Chris Vance and the Repug party? I am sick of the sight of his flabby piehole whining about efforts to actually make certain every vote is counted.

3. Why don't we do this?
In every precinct and every close election?
