What is the future of America (USA) |
|
Will we decline just like the Roman Empire. Will we become more hated, see the rest of the world organize to stop our emperialism? I despair because I see this country declining in freedoms, and amenities for citizens. I ask opinions from those wiser than I am.

I must ask you to refrain from holding out false hope for the enslaved peoples of the United States...
It's cruel...

11. I'm being overly cynical with my satire? |
|
You're Canadian, I'd thought you'd get it.
I, too, still harbor hope. There is just too much inherent goodness in the American people as a whole.
Once they learn the truth their corporate media has been hiding from them...
There'll be hell to pay.

That's because you are the conflagration person. However, if we cannot stop it here and now, we will burn in the third degree later.

7. America Will Lose WWIII to China/Russia |

Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 11:05 PM by Liberal_Dog
Followed by a long occupation and possible breakup of the country to prevent it from being a future threat.

I kind of see Western Europe taking up the cudgels to put us back in our place. It would be fitting, don't you think? I think Canada would gladly join in.

13. why Russia? What the hell do they have to do with anything? |
|
Russia has a long history of being isolationist.
They're a long ways away, physically and economically, from the United States.
However China could shut down this country's economy in five minutes.

12. Decline is inevitable |
|
How soon and how fast are the issues. You are correct that the rest of the world will form alliances to counter our military threat. They will not sit by while the US throws its weight around on the world stage. Countervailing power always arises.
The biggest problem for the US is financial. We are rotting from within. The gap between the richest and poorest is expanding at an unprecedented pace. We are losing our advantages is all key industrial and technical areas. Our level of debt is exploding. The unfunded liabilities of both the public and private sectors is so huge that it will lead to disastrous consequences. Bush*, of course, is doing his Nero imitation and the sheeple applaud. This will not turn out well for the US, but the bottom won't fall out for at least 5 years.

14. WE WILL CONTINUE THE EXPERIMENT OF DEMOCRACY!!! |
|
We are greater than ever because the "Age of Awareness" is here and now.
Bush spews "freedom" for corporacracy,...
The People will find "freedom",...in spite of corporacracy.
Of course,...these things are merely my humble beliefs,...and I am "Just Me".

I grew up as a little boy who in school put his hand over his heart and said the Pledge of Allegiance. How could such a beleiving american come to be so distrustful of America and its direction? It is because I am not dumb and I hate to see America going in the wrong direction. I want to stand up and stop what I see as the decline of America. It is sad that some people are leaving this country becaue they have given up instead of fighting. Well, I am fighting. And I am very sorry that even myself would now consider getting out of here. But, let's stay and make America what it shoud be. Where are our great leaders? The silence is too much. Speak out for America.

17. There are wise people left? |
|
I'd love to run into a few, too....
Yes, I see the empire part of the country vanishing- which is most of the form that it takes, sadly enough, at the present time. That's why it's all called Re-Form(ing) as a process.
But we're going to overthrow it from within. We got very close four weeks ago today; but there's no point in despairing at the close-but-no-cigar outcome. We only need to succeed once at this point and all the institutionalized barbarism crumbles.
Beyond it lies...real, Modern, American, civilization. The truth is that all of our problems are small ones compared to our abilities as a society- but for the need of the stupid and obsolete to protect their foolish privileges and to dominate. They demand to be defeated, demand of our side to prove itself wiser and (thereby) stronger, more capable at dealing with the difficulties of our times. We get closer every election.
