WTF? NBC's Brian Williams on The Daily Show with one of the funniest |
|
interviews ever! I never liked the guy at all...maybe I have been wrong about him? He was very quick-witted, and had John Stewart rolling in his chair with laughter.
I won't try to repeat what Williams said, but catch the repeat if you can. The rest of the show was very good also.

he's terribly funny. I saw him years ago on Leno (or whichever show it was) and couldn't stop laughing!

2. He's very funny on Conan O'Brien's show as well |
|
I don't really care for him behind the anchor desk, though.

3. Accidentally, about a year ago, I realized the wit of the guy |
|
he is dry, topical, quick, FUNNY. I lit up when I learned Brian would be on, and loved it/ and cracked up over both of them enjoying and appreciating the other.

That deadpan look after Stewart's rather vivid imagery was worthy of Jack Benny. I was surprised as well. I thought I didn't like him but will now have to reassess.

10. I saw him once talk about weathermen and "sweater weather" - funny - |
|
saying he thought weathermen shouldn't be all in our business - telling us what to wear or to open our windows - they get too personal - very funny stuff. But, I still don't like the guy, (his politics and his preening attitude) even if I respect his wit.
He tans too much - has the winkies (the stick on tanning goggles) thing going on around the eyes.

13. That's great he was funny, however........ |
|
He is shit in my book. He was continually assailing Gore in 2000, most notably on his "changing" wardrobe. Then during the weeks after the election, with Gore ahead in the popular vote by 500,000 and trying to get Florida votes counted, he was on Leno, matter-of-factly stating that Gore should concede. Being funny won't erase the whoring that he has done for Bush and the republicans.

16. It was bizarre the way he would suddenly interject his opinion while |
|
reading a straight news story. I remember him once ending a conventional story about the Florida recount with, "and remember, the only reason we're going through all this is because Al Gore so desparately wants to be president."
Besides being a repug, Williams always seemed to me to be dim-witted. That's why I was surprised tonight to see he was so sharp. I guess that makes him even more dangerous than I thought he was.

fine, I will watch a 'have me in stiches show'. But let's not give these media whores one ounce of respect. Yeah, Hitler was a ton of fun up in his austrian mountain home with the wine and women and cute dogs and all...... we can ALL be fun. Media whores... always SHUN them!!
Sorry, I am in a particularly vitriolic mood..... I have moods when I am so incredulous about what has happened to this country.
I really believed kerry would win by a landslide. Ugh.

Me, for one. From what my pals in red states were reporting -- the lawn signs, bumper stickers, bar-stool bs-ers -- everybody was going Kerry.
As for the fundie-GOTV: Gee, there must be a lot of them, programmed and paid for by Ralph Reed.

18. I would have probably laughed if I did not hate him as much as I do. |
|
I find people like him to be far more dangerous than people like Falwell. The thing I hate about grin-fuckers like Williams and Rather and Jennings (oh my) is that they stand there and deliver the chosen news and to the vast majority of the brain-dead out there these guys have legitimacy. What they say is the news. Most of the brain-dead can see that Falwell and Hannity and Limbaugh (oh god) are full of shit but they listen up when their grin-fuck whores give them the "news" - and they don't question a word of it. But when was the last time these guys gave us news that we at DU did not already know for 2 years? And when was the last time they gave us even a 10th of what we've already discovered, proven, and moved on from? When was the last time they asked even a moderately tough question of the Shithead or any of the fucktards on this maladministration? Fuck Brian Williams.

24. I read an interview with Olbermann where he said Brian was funnier than he |
|
is. That Williams had a far more sardonic, dry-wit and made far moe obscure cultural references than he ever thought about making. And we know that Olbermann is damned funny so if he says Brian is funny--then he's funny. I worked in Television for years and a friend of mine was an intern at MSNBC and she said that Brian is an okay guy--a really nice man and she reported he was very, very funny too.

25. Brian Williams has always |
|
been a quick wit, and has always had an appreciation for irreverent humor. He is a favorite at the free for all White House Press party. All the same, I'm not about to smoke the guy's hog. His veneer is so polished and glib, I wonder.
The guy is smart though. That's a fact.
