My friend brought this up tonight and now I ask this of you
"Can America REALLY be this dumb?" That was how she began our conversation. She went on to say that she has listen to Bush's speeches since his "win" she did the universal quote marks with her hand as she rolled her eyes and she can't believe that

1) No one is telling Bush that he is sounding like the biggest pompous idiot.

2) That he is his worse enemy and that some people are really waking up to the fact that this guy is REALLY dangerous.

She is going back for a second degree and is taking a couple Psychology classes and she said that he shows all the signs of insanity.

So I ask you when is America going to wake up and say this is a REAL DANGEROUS guy.

I'm talking about those who take the kool-aid.

These guys were actually killed on television along with a journalist who was killed in the same helicopter attack on a Baghdad street.

2. It's scary. I cried the day he was "forced" into office. I could see
the blackness in his soul by looking at his eyes. He is truly sick. He struts around like an arrogant narcissistic evangelist.

Even when I try to find the good in this man...he never follows through. There is always "spin" or deception.

3. When Is America Going To Wake Up?
Well, don't bet on the 59 million that voted for him, mainly because that particular group seems to have as its members:

1. Sheep
2. Those who drank the kool-aid
3. The Christian fanatics
4. Dumb people

That doesn't leave many left out of the 59 million.

12. Another group
One can't forget those who just wanted a tax break, those that voted based purely on thinking it'll be better for their pocketbook. IOW, selfish greed.

4. They hear the softly spoken
magic spell = media propaganda.

People/sheeple still tend to trust the media and may even believe that journalism is really being practiced. Why isn't this more than self-evident to those looking into the causes for the current dilemma.

We cannot all assume that everyone has, (or wants) access to alternative and indy media. So, for that reason, I am not going to base the results we are seeing merely on "intelligence" levels. When people are presented with the facts, honestly and fairly, I think they can make better decisions regardless of their level of education or IQ.

So, without a level playing-field, how can we expect intelligent and reasonable reactions? American mass media is, overall, the best propaganda machine that money can buy/create. It serves its owners well. We are not the owners.

7. actually the folks with the least education are usually the first
to catch-on.

BTW: the educated either can't/won't believe/see it and are usually SUPPORTERS to the bitter end :scared:

the 2004 demographics demonstrates this historic pattern again.

Terrible that I am wishing ill on my country; but unfortunately, it is the only thing that will get their attention. The ONLY thing. So....I will stock up on canned foods and hope I can survive until our renaissance.

8. Well, then again,
I honestly believe that, no matter how bad things may get for each family, people will still insist that things are great as long as the media tells them so.

9. Why does she think it's going to be considered a problem?

Dubya mirrors the people who voted for him and their desires quite perfectly. He has very substantially re-created the (horrid) American colonial sociopolitical world of ~1940-1950 in the present that Jim Jones portraits so exactly in "From Here To Eternity" (1953). It is a world where no one is particularly competent, the people who benefit from the insanity and exploitation at the bottom are invisible, and it's a world in which people live and die without a sense or sensibility of history or historical task. (So they make up some vanity or Deity to explain the parts they worry about.) It's heathenism, all of it, in the most classical sense of the term.

But it's a dying (sub)society and take on the world, despite representing a majority of Americans (in the formal sense, not in the matter of substance), and Dubya mirrors its pathology remarkably well. He does the False Messiah act and the seizure-prone amnesiac parts that reflects them so well...that he's a temporal lobe epileptic who is in the process of disintegration is not even frightening to them. In fact, it's part of the narcissistic attraction of the sufferers of similar pathological disorders. Seeing their leader undergo the same things and decline in competence and grasp on reality as they do, and lash out at reality and resort to nostalgic fantasy- that only makes them love him more.

Yes, it's a dreadfully sick society. Part of it simply wants to and has to die, understanding (though not admitting ) that it cannot cope with the world as it has changed during their lifetime.

10. They will wake up when they can't afford beer
Not being able to buy a six-pack will enlighten them to the error of their ways. No money for Toby Keith CD's and NASCAR tickets will get them where they live.

14. Most Bushites don't think . They respond to a sales pitch. It actually
takes a couple of open mind moments to get past the pitch and hear the truth. They can't open up to it . Maybe they are afraid to question or they are too caught up in their own little worlds. The shame of this situation is that they may wake up too late and be out in the cold.
Their jobs will be gone,or their salaries will be cut. Their options will be narrowed if they find themselves in any kind of unforeseen and unplanned personal or social problem. There will be much buyers remorse now that the Irresponsible Republican Fundies are keeping up their winning ways.

and is always on the high road right behind our President.

But yeah, following blindly will have you running into walls.
