Is There Something Fishy About "Shark Tale"? (article)
Religious Right activists leave no stone unturned in their hunt for hidden homosexual messages in pop culture. Ever since Jerry Falwell outed the purple Teletubby, lesser Religious Right minions have been eager to uncover the next nefarious plot out of Hollywood to corrupt America's children.

Thankfully, the American Family Association is on the case. Recently the Tupelo, Miss.-based group headed by the Rev. Donald Wildmon issued an alert warning parents about Dreamworks Studios' release "Shark Tale."

(in memory of blueandwhite who would might love to see gay fish movies banned)

The insanity continues. What else can you call this kind of wing-nut behavior? Give the Radical Right-wing Religous Republicans a voice, or some attention, and they will babble-on about the most rediculous things imaginable.

3. I agree, but.....
I felt that the father/son allegory was certainly one of a father dealing with his son's homosexuality, and the development of their relationship through understanding and acceptance. Very clever and cute character development.

4. shark tale was absolutely a manipulation
in creation, and i as a parent resent and am pissed about it. i have seen it in other disney movies and i dont like it. i dont like it when disney and cartoon network does it, i dont like it when the fundies do it to my kids. both sides, trying to play games with my kids heads is bullshit

they have done it in other movies, but especially in this one. this movie wasnt just in homosexuality, was also in other areas, was just filled with social issues they wanted to condition kids on. not their place

5. Why isn't it their place?
I mean if they want to tell a story with a moral center (whatever that center might be), why shouldn't they?

Stories are inherently moralistic because they are attempts to make life meaningful. You might not like that message or how it is portrayed, but to claim that they shouldn't even try to do it is not reasonable. At least in my mind.

8. What specific ideas is Disney pushing?
You really need to find content-free entertainment for the little ones. No ideas allowed!

With articles like this is it any wonder that people can't tell that Landover is satire.
