Thanks for all the kind words from so many of you good folks for my country in recent days.
A speaker at the candlelight vigil last night in Toronto said our home cannot be safe if the neighbourhood is going up in flames. Canada belongs to the global neighbourhood, and we're going to share in its fate whether we like it or not. The United States belongs to the neighbourhood too, whether some Americans know it or not. So regardless of what side of the border we're on, we're good neighbours sharing the same struggle, against a common enemy.
Living next door to the United States has always been a blessing and a curse. The curse today is self-evident and acute. The blessing is knowing there are millions of folks like you who are wishing us well and watching our backs. That means a great deal to me. So thanks, eh.

Most Americans are too egocentric to realize how bad they're f*cking up the world. Those of us who think globally will have to stick together, as this Ameircan-driven corporate consumerism movement seems to hellbent on destroying our natural resources and the compassion we used to have for all our fellow global citizens.

Thanks, Ironpost. What a kind welcome!
Most of us here in Canada are rooting for the Democrats, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you guys can effect some change. Otherwise the future is looking bleak for all of us.
There is another protest taking place right now in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We just aren't interested in having Bush here. And we especially aren't interested in his pet theories, policies, and other imbecilic ideas.

12. I think the whole world except the republicans hate him. |

Our northern friends keep up the good fight. Some where, some how maybe we will start protesting more vigorously. You Canadians have a lot to be proud of, not sure Martin is one of them.

for Martin and his campaign, as well as voting for him, but it was a strategic vote to keep the conservatives out; however, I'd say that even most of our conservatives are closer to democrats than republicans.

14. What is the realistic estimate of the crowd in Ottawa? |
|
Guessing from the pictures I've seen, I'd bet on 5,000, or so. I've heard estimates from 500 to 50,000!
Anyone there or talk to someone who was?
