It's about bloody time, Mr. President
You should have made a courtesy call 4 years ago. You should have thanked us for our hospitality after 9/11 3 years ago.

1. It's embarrassing, truly embarrassing.
That man is as diplomatic as Attila the Hun, though I might give a few extra points to Attila for living in a different age.

2. He's doing his usual Orwellian black=white, war=peace.
His speeches say one thing, his policies another. He's for diversity, so he says, and free market with compassion.

Free market is not compassionate. It's cutthroat chaos and anarchy.

8. Cut throat
Here's a two hour interview with the author of "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man".

http://www.radio4all.net/index.php?op=program-info&program_id=10465&nav=&

He was a lead economist behind some of the most brutal "regime changes" around the world, recruited by the NSA. Lived a very interesting life.

Basically, the IMF sends in these "economic hit men" to pervert the economy & run up huge debt to the rich. If the target country refuses, they send in the "jackals" to assassinate. If that doesn't work, they send in our military to kill and die. They've been doing it for years to intentionally impoverish most of the world and give the richest 1% of the richest nation even more.

In Iraq, Hussein wouldn't buy in, so they sent the jackals. They couldn't kill him, so they duped him into the Kuwait fiasco and war. Then they went through the cycle again leading to the second war.

9. Bush is a scary con-man.
Too bad we don't have tapes like Nixon had hanging around to show the world what he's really like.

3. It is quintessential Bush to express his appreciation and thanks
more than three years after the fact. It truly defines his warped sense of honor and morality and perfectly illustrates that he is nothing more than a selfish and vindictive little fuck.

11. Opportunistic s.o.b., isn't he?
But it does say something that he had to go that far back to find a capital chip.

4. No, it's not so much that he's lazy and late (though he is) . . .
It's that he now gets to milk 9/11 ONE MORE TIME. It's all he had in the election, and it's all he'll have for the next four endless years.

5. But he had to look strong
And to say thank you would have been seen as an act of weakness to um to uh to well to someone. gosh darn it. And that ain't right.Cause he says what he says and he meants what he meants.

6. But thinking is "hard work".
And critical thinking is out of his realm of thinking entirely.

I agree with you - he is long overdue.

7. graditude
We didn't do it to be thanked. It's not about being thanked. Who cares if we're thanked?! I lived in Halifax at the time and offered my home. I think it's sad that you expect to be thanked for doing the decent thing.

10. bush isn't in Halifax to thank anyone, it is simply a cover to...
put pressure on Canada to accept missile defense. It is appalling that he would use this cover but, then again, he abuses 9/11 at every opportunity be it in the US or Canada.

13. He's also trying to repair his cowboy image internationally
I do get your point about the missile defense agenda. It made it into his speech again today. I'm sure Paul Martin is going to be paying for this trip for days in Question Period.

12. I know Canadians were glad to open our homes to the stranded
Americans. We felt 9/11 - look how many people showed up on Parliament Hill for our day of remembrance for those who were lost.

It has always pissed me off that Bush has not made a trip north until now. Traditionally, the first place a US President visits is Canada. It took him 4 years to get here.

I have a friend who hosts wonderful dinner parties. She is happy to do it. She loves having people over. I always say thank you. I appreciate her efforts. I was brought up to say thank you.

15. He's an arrogant SOB. I'm surprised he ever showed up to thank you.
It's so unlike him to show graciousness. Please, let ME thank ALL of you for your support and compassion in our time of need. I, for one, will never forget it. Canada Rocks!
