Help! Does anything good happen?
I mean wow. For the past five years it seems like the shit just keeps falling a little more each day. Adding to the huge stinking pile.

Seldom do we get any good news about any progress being made in America.

The only place I find comfort is in my wife, daughter, church, members of the band and a fresh pint.

I've become less friendly, less patient with people I meet. I snap at people who say foolish things that support the laundry list of woe we live in.

Is there ever going to be any real peace anymore.....?

Is this country really that fucked up?

Is there some hope for the future?

(I am NOT going to turn to Jesus...so you can forget that...)

5. Your friends are doing something that most Republicans won't
do and that's support a baby who came into this world to some unfortunate girl who either didn't want it or couldn't afford to keep it; both reasons Repubs just don't understand. Your gay friends are good people and I applaud them; tell them thanks.

6. yes
There are good things happening although it is hard to see them through the haze of the Bushco effect.

I am working on recording an album for a great local band. As we are nearing completion, it is becoming obvious just how good it is going to turn out. This project has been the only thing that has kept me sane through all the turmoil.

7. "In the midst of winter
I found there was within me an invincible Spring."
--Albert Camus

This quote has gotten me through many a tough time.

There are times when you have to fight, and other times when you have to retreat a bit, lick your wounds, and look for comfort in friends, family, and enjoyable activities. A lot of us are in that zone right now.

9. The Rapture will take all those fundies away soon
so we can take over their houses.

There are movies you haven't seen yet, books you haven't read yet, music you haven't heard yet, great food you haven't tasted yet, and there will always be stupid people to make us laugh. That alone is worth the price of admission.

13. Yeah, but their houses will be jammed with Thomas Kincaid prints . . .
Precious Moments figuries and copies of the complete "Left Behind" series. I mean, who has time to take all of THAT crap to the dump?

Besides, when God turns on the Holy Hoover, they're going to stick us with all those Stupid Useless Vehicles, some running, some not.

10. I'm with you (and a lefty too) - I can't remember being this miserable.
It's like bush and his gang have done everything possible to destroy happiness in this country. They took steps to screw Iraq up - not securing borders or weapons depots, torturing prisoners, and so on. It would appear these were calculated to benefit their contractors and corporate sponsors (the oil/war machine in this country). And no one sees this.

I talk to my sister in Cinci and she's completely pissed off by the whole thing. My brother and my in-laws couldn't be happier. It's like the world has been turned on its ear and no one thinks anything is wrong with it.

I look at my kids and wonder what's going to happen to them in 10 years - are they going to be fighting in the Middle East or will we be living in Canada?

What really scares me is what's going to happen near the end of this term. Will we be attacked before the next election? Will bush stay in office as a war-time president? How long can this continue? Will Rick Santorum run as president in 08? It's like there's no light at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry if I brought you down, but you're not alone.

15. ArkDem,
Did you hear about the plant in Heber closing in three months?

Also, a man whom we've worked for at Robbins Flooring in Searcy called yesterday to tell us he'd lost his job. (Been hearing they may close that place too.) He said it's the first time he's been without a job in 40 years.

It is so sad.
