A great idea (my opinion) for birthday/Christmas cards... |
|
Especially for you politicos and lefty-types...
My "freeperesque" sister had a birthday on Monday. I called her to wish her a happy birthday. This is what I said:
"For your birthday, I wanted to send you some Iraqi weapons of mass destruction...
"BUT I COULDN'T FIND ANY!!!
"Happy Birthday anyway...!"
She seemed to appreciate the sentiment, albeit grudgingly. We had had a "discussion" right after the invasion about whether Iraq had or didn't have WMDs. We couldn't change each other's mind. Now, however, 20 months into the war, no weapons found, and an official report saying that Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11 and didn't have WMDs (per Bush's lies), might have had an effect on her thinking. At least, there might have been a seed of doubt planted.
Anyway, I plan to have custom-made Christmas cards this year with a holiday version of the above script. Perhaps a caricature of Bush--smirk and all--on the front of the card with the line "This Christmas, I wanted to send you some Iraqi weapons of mass destruction..." And on the inside, "BUT I COULDN'T FIND ANY...!!!" with a caricature of Bush, complete with goofing expression and shrugging, followed by, "But here's a holiday card just the same...!"

It would be a major dig. Before the war I told her Saddam certainly didn't have much in the way of WMD, if any at all, and her reply was "Where do you get your crazy news?"
Months later, no WMD. I reminded her: "See? I was right!" She admitted I was right, but thinks it was just a coincidence. She said "EVERYONE thought there were weapons! Even Europe! So I don't know why you think you have such special knowledge."
GRRR! It's called NOT watching Fox News and NOT listening to Limbutt!
