Rupert Murdoch and keep the company from being taken over. I saw someone from the Saudi royal family being interviewed about this on CNBC a few minutes ago.

2. "We're preparing all our strategy"
Fox TV moves sales operation

MEXICO CITY -- Fox Latin America Channels is moving its sales headquarters to Mexico City from Los Angeles as part of an effort to expand the programming distributor's reach in the region.

The unit of News Corp.'s Fox Television Group is also opening new sales offices in the Colombian capital of Bogota, Caracas, Venezuela's capital, and Chile's capital, Santiago.

"We're preparing all our strategy and our structure toward offering more television channels," said Carlos Martinez, the company's newly named deputy managing director for Latin America.

3. Saudi prince to champion Murdochs
By Wendy Frew
Sydney
November 18, 2004

Those sometimes friends, sometimes foes Rupert Murdoch and John Malone seem to be friends again and ready to sit down and discuss further tie-ups between their two media empires.

In what looked like an attempt to hose down speculation that Liberty Media chairman Mr Malone was preparing a hostile takeover bid for Mr Murdoch's News Corp, Mr Murdoch told investors in New York on Tuesday that there had been "some very friendly conversations" with Mr Malone.

Mr Murdoch, who is chairman of News and whose family holds a 29.5 per cent voting stake in the company, said Liberty's move earlier this month to buy more voting shares in News was "just John negotiating".

But if News had any lingering doubts about Mr Malone's intentions, it found another friend in Saudi Arabia's Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, who reportedly owns more than 3 per cent of the company's non-voting class A shares.

The Prince, a serious investor in his own right with a net worth of $US21.5 billion ($A27.8 billion), said yesterday he was a great believer in Mr Murdoch and his sons, Lachlan and James, and was ready to support them with more share purchases.

5. Prince Alaweed gave $10 million to Giulianni that Rudy rejected.
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 05:00 PM by Carl Brennan

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Thursday the city would not accept a $10 million donation for disaster relief from Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal after the prince suggested U.S. policies in the Middle East contributed to the September 11 attacks.

"I entirely reject that statement," Giuliani said. "There is no moral equivalent for this act. There is no justification for it. The people who did it lost any right to ask for justification for it when they slaughtered 4,000 or 5,000 innocent people."

Prince Alwaleed gave the mayor a check after a Thursday morning memorial service at Ground Zero, the site of the World Trade Center towers destroyed in the attacks.

The prince offered his condolences to the people of New York, but after the ceremony he released a statement suggesting the United States "must address some of the issues that led to such a criminal attack."

"The check has not been deposited. The Twin Towers Fund has not accepted it," Giuliani said in a statement late Thursday.

The prince's statement said the United States "should re-examine its policies in the Middle East and adopt a more balanced stand toward the Palestinian cause.

"While the U.N. passed clear resolutions numbered 242 and 338 calling for the Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank and Gaza Strip decades ago, our Palestinian brethren continue to be slaughtered at the hands of Israelis while the world turns the other cheek," the statement said.

Giuliani flatly rejected the prince's position. "To suggest that there's a justification for only invites this happening in the future," he said. "It is highly irresponsible and very, very dangerous.

"And one of the reasons I think this happened is because people were engaged in moral equivalency in not understanding the difference between liberal democracies like the United States, like Israel, and terrorist states and those who condone terrorism.

"So I think not only are those statements wrong, they're part of the problem," Giuliani said.

4. So .... On the FRONT of the television screen ...
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 02:54 PM by Trajan
FAUX newshounds dribble into their laps as they hallucinate dreams of blasting the 'Sand Niggers'* and the 'Towelheads'* to nuclear smithereens, while BEHIND the television screen, those very same 'Sand Niggers'* and 'Towelheads'* are propping up the financial house of cards on which the newshound's very mouthpiece of propaganda is founded ?? ...

SO many instances of poetic justice today ....

Sad and sweet at the same time ...

(*note: These are NOT my words, but the words of MANY RW'ers when they refer to arabs and muslims of all types ... I would NEVER use such terms ... except to point out the ugliness of the right wing zealots ...)

6. To quote Aimee Mann...
It's not going to stop...until you wise up..

Why can't we do the same thing...let's all buy up their stock and force them to cover the news or bail out of the stock and let a progressive buy what remains?

7. We must march against Fox and the rigged election.
Not talk. Action. STREET action. Action in the STREETS. Huge public protest. A joint protest against the rigged election and Fox right in front of Fox World Headquarters in New York with the chant, “Rupert Murdoch, tell the truth! Fascists rigged the voting booth!” Fox is headquartered in mid-Manhattan on the SECOND floor. We’re going to be right outside their windows by the thousands screaming our guts out where they can hear us. Bad vibrations? Too bad studio soundproofing isn’t perfect. We must deny them legitimacy at all costs. Bush didn’t win. His election is a fake. Vast numbers of Americans still don’t know this because Bush shills like Fox cover it up. Fox must be targeted. Their headquarters are in New York. The other papers and media in New York will cover this protest because they all hate Fox’s living guts in New York. See this blog:

A Call To March On Fox
For refusing to tell the truth about the rigged election! —

Go to this thread and participate in the discussion — A call to march against the rigged election — includes extensive discussion about the planned march on Fox/rigged election:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x2688242

Add your comments there, keep that thread kicked. There’s going to be a huge march in New York combining protest against the rigged election and the Bush shills like Fox who cover it up, a double whammy. After that, the cat will be out of the bag and Bush will have lost legitimacy.

Why is that important? Because legitimacy is essential for de facto power. Official or “de jure” power is not enough for a leader to maintain control. He has to also have the INTANGIBLES of legitimacy — de facto authority. That’s why presidents can become lame ducks in their second term. Bush must be denied LEGITIMACY. His whole presidency must be publicly DELEGITIMIZED. People in other countries will hear about the march too. This will add to his difficulties diplomatically overseas. To deny legitimacy we must march against the rigged election.

Where? At the number one shill covering it up — Fox. Fox Headquarters in New York. Fox may or may not admit we are in front of their New York offices but the other New York news organizations will because they hate Fox. See the above blog for full details on that and the whole march plan. See and post on the above thread to get involved. Keep that thread kicked.
