All but 1 democrat in the house was against parental consent in the NFC
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 08:56 PM by Melodybe
Every democrat in the house except one voted against adding parental consent to the mandatory testing and druggin of our children, all but 1.

Want to know why you haven't gotten to read the legislation itself on the New Freedom Commission? Why? the answer is cause NO ONE has. It is not public. Ron Paul's bill "Let Parents Raise their kids Act is the only legislation that has been made public.

The freeps were complaining about that as well in the now famous freeper meltdown thread we have been looking at for the last 2 days.

here is a link to his house proposition:
http://www.house.gov/paul/congrec/congrec2004/cr100604.htm

Ron Paul's office said that the legislation (without parental consent, since that was voted down in the house) was passed in the Senate on Nov 21, 2004. I looked at the senate website and althougth the legislation itself is not mentioned the votes are listed.

Hillary voted for it, Kerry had the sense to vote against it.

I can only think of two reasons that dems would vote against Ron Paul's bill and for a bill that requires mandatory mental health screening and medicating: 1 our beloved democrats have been bought off by the pharmacutical lobbiest 2 they didn't read the legislation and are not doing their god damn jobs.

Why on earth would any parent in the house or senate allow mandatory testing and medicating of children? Why on Earth can't any of us read the legislation on it?

2. Do you have a link to the vote tally on this?. . .
And do you know if it is common practice for Congress to pass legislation that is then not made public? Any other legislation you know of that has been similarly handled?

I went the Senate site myself and a link to the votes was listed on the right hand side. Since that was a week ago it is gone now.

Go look at the freeper meltdown thread they have a list of the house votes there.

4. Q: why are they passing this?
A: to make the public school system so unpalatable that it opens the door for more privatization in the system.

12. That's my thinking. Like I said in another thread, if the Dems
and Repugs vote for this, then we can assume it really is about us vs. the government. This seems to me like they want people from both parties to pull their kids out of school for homeschooling and they will eventually just close public schools, or be able to control the very poor more than they do now. Something's very fishy about this from both sides.

11. Thanks. I thought that a lone Dem voted against it.
And then the drift into RP land threw me off.

Who was the lone Dem?

The Republicans like using our kids as guinea pigs. At the rate this country's going, they'll be making surprise stops at everyone's homes and giving us mandatory drug tests (Government Knows Best, you know ;-) )
