GOD EXISTS! (proof)

6. God proves he doesn't exist...
"I refuse to prove that I exist", says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."

"But," says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you do exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."

"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't though of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.

7. I do not think of it as some Christian God..but more the universal
knowledge that does exist. Like the amazing fact that fire was discovered by many people over the earth at about the same time!!!

Anyway..I had a similar experience. After my sister lost her 17 year old daughter to an auto accident, I for some reason stopped at a grocery store I NEVER stopped at, because I had to make a U-Turn to get into the lot. Anyway, I purchased a bunch of B'day cards for my sisters family. Her birthday was less than a month away. (My b'day is 9/14, her's is 9/26) I picked up a card, put it back, got another and started to walk away, went back, picked up the card again, put it back, picked it back up. Anyway, I mailed her the birthday card and when my mother returned she had in her suitcase the birthday card my sister had bought for me...it was the EXACT SAME CARD....!!!!!

My sister asked, well, why didn't she put the card back like I did, and my only answer was she KNEW her daughter's voice and I did not recognize it...but it was VERY powerful!!!!

9. An even more interesting 'coincendence' prior to my niece's death
I met a man whom I was attracted to and he and I spent much time together, and one night I had an anxiety attack and asked if he would spend the night with me and we slept together and never had sex..he begged forgiveness for any errant hard on's..and I was very turned on, but sex never ensued...

Well, he introduced me to a book called "Life after Life"...which I purchased and took to my sister when I went to Florida for the funeral. She said that book helped her through the whole ordeal more than any words of condolence any one spoke!!!

I never saw that man again!

29. bullshit
That 95% figure is WRONG.

Many believe in more than one God(ess)
Many believe God(s)(es)(ess) take different forms and ways of existing and have different role(s) and power(s)
Alot of people aren't sure/don't care

Only if you lump all those people together and you might aprroach 90-95%. But too many people are busy starving because of "God's people".

"Yeah and at one point in time almost all of Germany believed in Hitler, that make it a good idea?" - My usual response to that

10. I'm glad the guy was caught but..
A mother, understandably distraught at the death of her son, is overcome while listening to holiday music on the car stereo. She is probably crying and not focusing and her instinct tells her to get off the road.

She does, still overcome with emotion. She has spent the longest time trying to make sense of this tragedy and knows what the witnesses have said. She has probably mulled it over a thousand times and her attention is pulled by any white van/suv that goes by

While she is pulled over at the side of the road, the white van goes by and it looks like, well, a van. She is still overcome and she follows her gut feeling. Fortunately, she was right.

She was also lucky.

If her faith gets her through it, more power to her, but this ain't proof of anything other than if you hit someone in your car and run off, don't continue driving the car around town.

13. Non-existence. Proof By Babel Fish
The Babel fish, said The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy quietly, is small, yellow and leech-like, and probably the oddest thing in the Universe. It feeds on brainwave energy not from its carrier but from those around it. It absorbs all unconscious mental frequencies from this brainwave energy to nourish itself with. It then excretes into the mind of its carrier a telepathic matrix formed by combining the conscious thought frequencies with nerve signals picked up from the speech centres of the brain which has supplied them. The practical upshot of all this is that if you stick a Babel fish in your ear you can instantly understand anything said to you in any form of language. The speech patterns you actually hear decode the brainwave matrix which has been fed into your mind by your Babel fish.

"Now it is such a bizarrely improbable coincidence that anything so mindbogglinglyly useful could have evolved purely by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as the final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God.

"The argument goes something like this: ‘I refuse to prove that I exist,’ says God, ‘for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing.’

"‘But,’ says Man, ‘The Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn’t it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don’t. QED.’

"‘Oh dear,’ says God, ‘I hadn’t thought of that,’ and promptly vanished in a puff of logic."

55. Yeah, I have trouble believing that God would, say, interveve
in the MSU, Ohio State football game but miss the Holocaust.

I really don't think it works this way and believing it does, at it's logical conclusion, requires you to either re-evaluate God's place in the universe (and ours) or embrace athiesm. Otherwise you must believe in a diety who is both arbitrary and just, which I can't quit get my head around.

21. Even more proof
After my last post I started thinking about this some more- I have, in the past year, had a number of people tell me that my life is "proof God has a plan for me".

Here's why:

Last year I was hit head-on by a car out of nowhere and almost died. I was in a wheelchair for a long time and had to be moved back with my parents where they live in North Carolina (from where I was in California) because I couldn't physically move my right limbs.

Three months after the accident, my mom was diagnosed with cancer. Since I am still here recovering I've been able to be around for her.

Hence, my accident happened for a reason! I almost died for a reason! How fortunate am I that the Almighty's grand, glorious plan for my life included seeing the grill of an SUV close-up! Especially since this was able to coincide with the glorious plan for my mom- that of course being a terminal disease.

I hate to sound so cynical, but there ya go.

24. "everything happens for a reason"
i hate that saying, because it communicates very little in the way of any actual idea.

sure things happen for a reason.

if i take this apple and drop it to the ground, the reason it falls is gravity, or maybe me deciding to drop it.

point is, things happen for a reason, but 90% of the time, the reasons are actually mundane and not filled with supernatural bullshit.

he sure is a bastard.

why would i want to love someone who threatens to banish my soul to hell for some eternal torment just because i don't believe in him?

god wants your love and belief, but won't be honest enough to show himself, then punishes you for questioning if he's actually there.

sounds really passive aggressive to me.

god is a lot like an alcoholic father.

31. If God "wants" your love
isn't that proof enough that he doesn't exist? Why would an all perfect being "want" or "need" anything? To "Want" or "need" means you can lack, and lacking means you're not perfect, and if you're not a perfect being than a very strong argument can be made that you don't exist at all.

(these are not from christian nuts but nice people who arent fanatics)

i once heard a story that goes like this

you were walking in a cavern and some rocks fell and spelled out the word hello you walk along and once again rocks fall and spell out the word hello so you keep walking and then a third time rocks fall and spell out hello would you then belive there was a god

someything like that i guess its supposed to resemblew the creating of the world and other thigs that happened

another argument i have heard

is that once humans lived in caves and bears lived in caves, and nowe bears still livew in caves but humans live in advanced cities.

apparently this is supposed to signify that humans are instilled with the "divine presence"

just wondering what your response is to this

that this woman finds it impossible to believe that it could've been some inate ability within herself that lead her to this place. is her interpretation. Many people have things happen and attribute them to being in tune, karma, 6th sense or whatever.

Wether she is right or not, who knows. I doubt a judge will base his decisions on her attributing it to "God". Unless GW selected him, that is...
