More American Airline layoffs
Are they running out of ways to make layoffs sound like a GOOD thing?? Yeah, we are laying you off BUT you can still fly free for a long time..well, OK , so you are JOBLESS and have no money to actually GO anywhere but it is a good deal..really.

Many employees who have been with American at least five years will be able to volunteer to leave the company in exchange for longer flight benefits or to have more severance than if they were laid off.

"We sure do hate that we have to lay anyone off, but for some people these programs provide an opportunity to change their lives," said Sonja Whitemon, a spokeswoman for Fort Worth-based American.

Corporate GREED and CONSUMERS who want you to give your product away. I wish they would re-regulate the industry.

I work at UAL and there is talk we will be soon doing the same.They already will be shipping 850 RES jobs ouside the borders of the USA.
