I became a believer when he smacked down the shrub in the debates. He would have been amazing.

4. I may be wrong ........
....... but I'm gonna continue chanting the mantra I took up on November 3, 2004:

"It's not over yet.
The election's not over yet.
It's not over yet."

6. i agree...
and it makes me just that much more depressed =<[br />
but i haven't lost heart...we need to re-organize and re-build into suhc a potent force for the people that in 06 and 08 a sweep for the dems unlike anything in recent memory will occur...well, i'd at least settle for a few seats gained in 06, stop the GOP momentum...and then we take the white-house in 08 and expose the GOP and this admin for the cockroches they are

...they scatter from the light.

7. I also agree.
People get mad when you say someone looks like a president, but Kerry looked, talked and acted like a leader in those debates and that is why i think he would be a great president. I believe his stance on terrorism would have been strong also because of how he wanted to rid of the bogus terror levels and emphasize more on local police forces and intelligence and not just scare the bejesus out of everyone.

10. I disagree
Gore would have been the best in my lifetime. He is way smarter than Kerry, though admittedly he doesn't have the same charisma as Bill Clinton.

He could have fixed the tech bubble before it completely deflated, and then promoted new technologies that would make america even better.

11. I agree/disagree
He would have tried to be a good and great president, but I see no way at all that a repug controlled congress would have given the opportunity.

12. Sorry... no
In looking at Bill Clinton's presidency, including his first campaign for the presidency, I get an image of a fierce quarterback straining for the goal line with rabid Repug opposition hanging and clinging all over him. And still he does not go down -- and he makes the goal. A play one doesn't often see more than once in a lifetime.

When I think of Kerry's run (and I voted for him, like a dutiful Democrat, gave money, talked to people, did the whole thing -- was even happy to get the signed pic of him and Edwards) -- anyway, when I think of Kerry's run, I think of fans in the bleachers looking up and down the field wondering if he's still in the game -- where is he? (thru the whole Swift Throat Liars for Shrub thing)-- and wondering what kind of strategy it is to score a touchdown for the opposing team (the whole "would have voted to give Bush authorization to invade Iraq even knowing there were no WMD" thing.)

Therefore, can't say I seriously think he would have been better than the Big Dog. Better than Bush -- hell yes! Big Dog? ...No.

13. I think he'd have made...
... at least a very good president, but it's pretty moot. He was unwilling to take on the attack machine head to head and he lost.

Too bad.

15. Disagree...
From every indication he's as much in the pocket of the PNAcers as any of the DNC gang.

The War on Terror is a fraud, and Mr. Kerry continues to do his part to perpetrate that fraud.

19. It seems pretty obvious he is in line with what most of us here
don't like about Bush. For me I don't like Bush because of most of the evil policies he initiates which never seem to be vigorously opposed by Kerry or most of the DLC type Dem's.

If I was picking a leader based on presentation alone I would get excited by the fact Kerry speaks better English than Bush but I can't say that Kerry is not just as much of the PNAC plan as anyone who's name is on the document. He seems to have served a critical purpose in seeing it become a reality.

16. Don't know how old you are but
unless you go back a long way- it wouldn't be very hard at all to top every single President at least since Lyndon Johnson- and Johnson had his problems too, with respect to Vietnam- like Kerry would have with Iraq.

18. Well given "the way" he lost I can't say he earned any respect from me.
I look for more in a leader than what he put on the table and that is saying it nicely. I will never go along with the crowd again as far as supporting a candidate from any party.

I knew Kerry would would not present Bush with serious opposition yet I let myself be cowed into supporting him.
