Let me be free.
Edited on Fri Dec-03-04 03:47 AM by kgfnally
Please.

Let me live my life. Let me be gay, or straight, or bi. Let me be of a differenct color, or religion, and let me be it in peace.

Let me be free from pharmacists' moral judgements. Let me be free from your fag-hating God.

Fag-hating God. That has a really nice ring to it. "Oh, you worship the fag-hating God?" Priceless.

Let me be free from your small, nudity-hating mind. Let me be free from your fire, your brimstone, your hell and your damnation.

Let me be free from your amendments which say I can't marry who I love. Let me be free from those who wish I didn't live next to your kids, because I live with a guy instead.

Just let me be free, like I thought I would be when I was a child.

Just let me be free.

1. It's funny, I don't recall ever trying to impose upon their lifestyles
I don't begrudge anyone their private lives, beliefs, or idiosyncracies, even those with whom I disagree as a free thinking progressive.

So why does the religious right actively seek to undermine and destroy ours?

2. That has been my question for 30 years
I have yet to hear a rational answer.

3. Check out Soul Force.
http://www.soulforce.org/

I was raised a United Methodist but since that church has turned its back on me (unless I stay in the closet) I have turned to other churches that are more forgiving. United Church of Christ is one example.

It's time to stop the religious violence against GLBT people.
