Does this sound like hypocrasy to you?... |
|
...Yesterday I applied for a position on my local draft board thanks to a link provided by a fellow DUer. Afterwards I told a co-worker what I had done. This co-worker voted for * and said her reason was that she felt he was a man of God. I stopped trying to convert her to Kerry at that point. Anyway when I told her what I had done she turned pale and asked me if thought there would be a draft. I told her that if * wanted to attack anybody else I didn't see an alternative. She told me she was deathly afraid for her boys, aged 24 and 22. Then she asked me why I would want to be on the draft board. I asked her that if there were a draft, which would she rather have on the board, me or a george bush clone. After a brief consideration she said, well of course me. Do you think she is being hypocritical?

2. Yep, she's a hypocrite |
|
Tell her that maybe she should have thought about a draft before she voted for that "man of God." Also, if she's such a good and god-fearing Repub, she should be urging her boys to enlist. After all, this is a war approved by Jesus, according to Falwell.

5. No. She's buttering up her local draft board person. Smart lady. |
|
Bet she didn't sleep well.
Expect to be treated very well by her from now on. When the time comes, she's going to expect you to keep her boys safe.

6. Surprised she didn't mention her boys were a little sickly, or |
|
struggling with whether to come out of the closet.

rules and consequences are for other people. Since she thinks Bush* is such a godly man, she should be happy to offer her sons to go die for him. :eyes:

You should have told her a draft is in god's hands and if gad wants it, her boys will go die in the desert.

9. Not necessarily hypocritical |
|
just another one of the those many folks that fail to make the connection between the folks they vote for and the policies that those people enact.
"Wellll, I may not agree with everything he does but that there bush sure is a godly fella."
That sort of thinking drives me nuts and I can think of lots of words to describe it but I wouldn't necessarily consider it hypocrisy.
