What good is protest, says my sister, help me exlain: |
|
What good does all the protesting do? He got elected! Somebodythought he did a good enough job. So can't we just stick with issues asthey arise and not attack the figurehead. That's all he is, you know.Just a dummy representing the current group in control. I'm wary of allthe hate mongering. I'm afraid it can become a way of approaching life.Silly, maybe?

1. He DIDN'T get elected. |
|
He's a fraud two times over.
Hating anti-American neo-fascism is not "mongering", it's PATRIOTISM.

3. I sent her pics of the Ottawa protests, lately she is anti anything |
|
I have to say.I'll have to remind her of how protests ended the Vietnam war, may turn over an election in the Ukraine, got the vote for women, civil rights for minority. "the only way for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

Why protest: "The only way for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." A popular quote, I'm not saying Bush is evil it's just a quote about what happens when good people do nothing in the face of atrocities being committed by their governments that cause the death and destruction of peoples and their homes, resources etc....
Because people took to the streets the Vietnam war ended, women got to vote, blacks didn't have to sit at the back of the bus, a fraudulent election is being overturned as I write in the Ukraine.
The people of Ottawa are not protesting a figurehead, they are protesting everything he stands for: stealing elections, illegal wars, controlling natural resources of other countries for giant American and global corporations, big oil etc.....
Protesting such corruption, death and destruction, and injustice is not hate mongering, it is standing up for peace and human rights.
The hate mongering is generated by the media who treat politics like it is a spectator sport while propping up the ruling class for profit and the protection of their sponsors.

6. Your sister makes a good point: |
|
I'm wary of allthe hate mongering. I'm afraid it can become a way of approaching life.
I've thought about this myself, but I think it's appropriate to point out to her that hatemongering has already become a way of life: The right declared war on the rest of America back, oh, at least the time of the Great Republican Uprising, circa 1995.
The unfortunate question now is, whether you will be complicit in this war by your silence. Everything people in this country have worked for has been declared a target in this war. For today's latest example, just consider the Social Security issue. For the on-going perspective, consider that the American people have been systematically uninformed and misinformed by complicit media on every single issue of substance.
Your media has been privatized, your representatives have been privatized, your defense has been privatized, your vote has been privatized - your government has been privatized.
Is this what America is about? Supposedly, we worship how people fought and died for our freedom, while we will not even stir ourselves to even speak against this growing totalitarianism.
