1. No
According to TO's report anyway it does seem Danforth is a square peg for the upcoming black hole Bush is planning. He doesn't need old moderate window dressing anymore or anywhere. People he used to have to talk into doing useless work when they never had a policy say are just being allowed to quit. I expect the new UN guy will be a bully with happy smiles, probably an insulting stooge, not a real diplomat.

3. Condi's nomination has been announced... what postponement are you
referring to? Her confirmation hearing isn't until January, but I think that was necessary because of Senate recess?

5. Bullpoop. They postponed it so that the new Congress
would be in session, the one with the extra GOPers Enronned into office via the crooked vote. They want the bitch confirmed, something that is less than certain now.

As for Danforth, he'll be rewarded elsewhere he can do the country damage.

6. I can't imagine her not being confirmed in toadys Congress, if they had
wanted.... What Repug would vote against her? Few Dems would, given they are so cowed by voting against a minority and a woman.

4. Quite the opposite ....
His resignation caught the White House off guard. He had expected the position that Condi has been picked for. Danforth's leaving is because he had been under the impression that the position was his; it was the only reason he took the UN spot.
