What's the latest word on Saddam's trial ? |
|
Will it be after the Iraqi "election" in late January? Will they get to his trial quickly before the new government collapses? Are they going to use the "oil for food scandal" to turn his few supporters against him? Will they execute him or will his lawyers get an appeal? And what part is his trial playing on other politics in the area?

1. The ILL-lustrious Saxby Chambliss says.... |

We should try him as soon as possible so that the Iraquis can see that freedom is on the march and the flowers and candy thrown at us will be non-stop (paraphrasing - but you get the neocon gist).

2. If he gets a fair trial he'll never be convicted. Big if. |

I'm sort of hoping bush and Saddam stand trial together. Same charges apply to both.

4. They operated on him not too long ago |

so expect him to fall down 38 times in the near future. -Seriously this IS getting Col.Flagg-ish (M*A*S*H*)
Luckily his captured has greatly decreased the number and severity of insurgent attacks, as predicted.
