Message:

It was once an honorable thing. It has now degenerated into a nightmare.Partial birth abortion, hate crime legislation, higher and higher taxes, condoms on cucumbers being taught in the public schools, the ten commandments being ripped down, all mention of God being blotted out in the public square, homosexual mariage,Jessie"I spit in white peoples food" Jackson being held up as a force for progressive politics,anti-American hatred, flag burning. These things are now the number one criteria of being progressive in this country.Sorry,I cant picture Jesus being for partial birth abortion."

The initial thread was started there by GreenPartyVoter : http://forum.onecenter.com/cgi-bin/forum/forum.cgi?c=msg&fid=power2&mid=3331

9. Jesus wasn't pro-legislation on ANYTHING
"Sorry,I cant picture Jesus being for partial birth abortion."

Jesus wouldn't even be involved in the argument on the political side. If God frowns upon partial birth abortions, that's what he does but he wasn't about to make the Romans make it illegal. Therein lies the difference.

destroying the future fertility of the woman?..Wow different Jesus then the one I worship. I think I will stick w/the Jesus of the Bible, not the one that has been created by the Paulians.

I'd rather not post there. You can't argue with ignorant morons. They are so blind in their love for Bush that they would support him even if he would shoot children in front of them.

I figure we should just get rid of the annoying political threads all together. It would be a big step in that direction.

30. Actually, the Eleventh Commandment...
...was forgotten here on earth until 1998, when Moses returned to pass it on to Bill Clinton, so that he might learn how to live a righteous life.

The commandment read:

XI Thou shall not show thy rod to thy staff.

;-)

31. If god is EVERYWHERE ...
... than how can god be removed from the public square.

For the record, we have a rule against mixing up church and state. No doubt our legislation is INFLUENCED by Christian lawmakers. But the constitution says pretty clearly that the state is NOT allowed to codify religion.

Those pushing to "put god back in government" are trying to turn our Country into an Iranian style system where judges can strike down legislation that they believe contradicts scripture.

They are ALSO trying to rewrite history and superimpose Christianity on our founding fathers. Plymouth colony was indeed a theocratic society. But that was just ONE of many colonies. Most of them were pretty a-religious. SOME of the them hated organized religion with a passion (Jefferson, Adams, Franklin).

Our founding fathers were products of the age of reason. They were largely diests and congregationalists. They believed that man should rule himself relying on his own judgement.

If we were inded a "Christian Society" as the fauxndies claim, than our Constitution would EXPLICITELY make itself subject to biblical law. Instead, the first amendment CLEARLY defines a separation of church and state.

Now we have Clarence Thomas who believes that the collective precedent of the court does not constitute constitutional law. He believes that the Declaration of Independence and the Bible form a "higher law" and would superceed Constitutional Law with "biblical law".
