If we wanted to promote a moderate Party, wouldn't we want to get rid of all the maniacal, snarling, slobberings Democrats off the air? Are these types hurting our cause?

1. The democratic party
has no control over who CNN puts on tv. They are all about business interests and profit motives. That being said, I like Carville, and am not sure that "moderate" is the direction to aim towards.

2. I'm tired of being a moderate!
I think we need to be more aggressive. I will continue to be polite, but no moe will I allow any of these goons to steam roller me!

10. "i'll apply the vaseline for you."
that's what i think moderate attitudes amount to. you will never get a regressive to play fair now that they think they OWN us. there is no room for a dissenter in the current political climate - and guess what? the rethugs control the thermostat and the heater.

kinda like that scene in goodfellas where henry is talking about paulie:

you want health care?

fuck you, pay me.

you want middle class tax relief?

fuck you, pay me.

you want clean air?

fuck you, pay me

and so on and so on.

the rethugs are not interested in any form of bi-partisanship.

they think we are "owned" by them (i keep seeing this phraseology more and more).

you are one of US if you disagree with w in any meaningful way.

3. Bullspit! Give us some more people with the cajones of the Ragin' Cajun
and we'd be a hellovalot better off! And who has determined we want a "more moderate" party? You? Leave me out of it.

4. Moderates? We have an overabundance of moderates to the point that
the Dem party looks a lot like the Rs. We need to our liberal Dem roots back and represent the worker and the farmer and women and minorities etc. We need to become the party of the people again, and that, my friend, does not mean that we select a milder flavor of corporatism.

27. This is the important point that is being missed ...
Carville may have a eccentric or even bizarre personality, but politically he is a pure southern DLC moderate.

7. Whose voice(s) of "moderate rationality" is Carville's drowning out?
I beg to differ. Once the pugs have convinced us to assassinate one of our own, we have crossed over and totally joined them.

26. Carville's slowing down the "Joe-Mentum"....
I doubt Daschle, Jowly Joe and Evan Bayh would care to have James at one of their DLC parties.

But I don't like Carville. I really have no liking for the "Sleeping with the Enemy" SCHTICK Mary Matalin and him have spent so many years carefully cultivating and marketing. Yeah, I said marketing.

Sort of like I've always said about Gush Pfleghmball, that if the country flipped 180 degrees overnight, we'd see cyst-boy undergo an AMAZING transformation into a bigger Liberal than Al Franken.

Whatever sells, friends, step right up and be the first on your block....

8. GOP's ridicule/exaggeration can only be met by the same from DEMs
It is a sound bite world - short attention span leads to a reasoned response looking "weak" and lacking in "leadership"

12. the time for worrying about image
is long past.

we're now being marginalized into an ideological ghetto or gulag.

better exercise those first amendment rights before they are completely shredded.

15. Since our image is -"-just a bunch of pointy- headed wussies"
having no passion and ready to compromise at the drop of the hat
I have difficulty with this question. We have been Moderate and let the DLC lead and consistenly lost elections. It has nothing to do with moderate. It is IMO What do we believe with such passion that we are ready to stand and fight. Until we have ddeveloped a set of beliefs
that any American can recite after hearing it a few times, we will never win and election. The Democratic Party stands for------. Iam a Democrat because-----. just my thoughts. Thanks

16. What happened to the big-mouth black lady that was on talk shows....?
all the time? I haven't seen her in months. She came across as a Marxist or very anti-American at times. I can't remember her name off the top of my head but it seems she has been blacklisted from all the talk shows. Anyone know who I'm talking about??

Edited on Sat Dec-04-04 09:09 AM by proudbluestater
We need SOMEBODY to freaking speak up LOUDLY for our side, don't we? We have very few Dems (including those in Congress) willing to take on this evil regime. With no MSM to ask the TOUGH questions, we're left with only pundits to do it.

21. The problem is Carville is a snarling moderate.
Remember the way Carville and his DLC ilk rabidly attacked Dean? Carville is an attack dog for the corporate whore DLC rethug lite wing of the party. We need more rational sounding progressives. Who's your Obama?

23. I used to like Carville but now...
I think he has been too affected by pillow talk with his rabidly right-winged wife. She has really "pussy-whipped" him.

As for me...no more talk about being "moderate." To hell with being "moderate." It has gotten us nowhere except here on this board and others like it to complain in vain to each other because we sure don't seem to be reaching the ears of our party's leaders - whomever they may be (anybody know who they are? Please tell the rest of us.)

I am going for the most Left leaning Progressive arm of the party that I can find and right now I am investigating PDA. Frankly, I would rather lose the election than be a part of voting in a corporate ass-kissing DLC candidate and I have a feeling that that is just what is going to happen as long as we have "moderates" who want to fashion the party after the Republicans. The "moderates" can sure as hell count me OUT!

25. I want passion, venom, hate spewers, insults, call-outs, and more ....
I want junk yard dogs out there speaking for us

I want a political Luca Brazza out there breaking heads for us

I want a Dem on live TV to reach out to the other side ..... and then yank their black little hearts and rip it out, bloody and beating, right on live TV (will that violate FCC rules?)

I want street thugs out there mugging the religious extremists on their sanctimonious way to the TV alters

I want verbal assault weapons in the form of screaming heads out there all the time.

I want an army of grassroots rabble and wild eyed liberals out there taking back our state party machines.

I also want clean underwear and world peace.
