4. An Al From popularity survey?? LOL!!
Now this makes me laugh. He doesn't like traditional progressive-liberal "New Deal" democrats. And I don't think very highly of him and his cohorts either...

5. He was saying on radio the other day
he had done a political fund raiser for Pol Pot. Was that a joke? I found this online"

"Franken then joked that the first politician for whom he had ever done a fund-raiser was Cambodian dictator Pol Pot.

He said that once he saw the murder in Cambodia, he "felt really stupid."

http://www.yaledailynews.com/article.asp?AID=13939

Then he played a speech he did at one of the Clear Channel Pro War Rallys before the invasion of Iraq. He said he was sorry.

I'd say the man is totally lacking in judgment and opportunistic to the point of sociopathy. In the light of how much help we've gotten from the Dem Party for recounts (0) and how much they fight for human rights and democracy, maybe Al's credentials make him a perfect choice for the DNC.

11. This thread is about Al From, not Al Franken.
And Franken was joking about doing a fundraiser for a Cambodian dictator.

Al Franken worked hard to get Kerry elected. It's not opportunistic.

16. Sometimes I'm stupid. But learning.
Guess posting with a migraine (and on meds) isn't the best idea.

Thanks for being so polite about it!

6. From??? That's like appointing Giuliani as head of the DHC..
Personally, I'd like to see Richard Ben Veniste as the head of the DNC.

9. Why I voted yes
Either the Democrats need to shed the DLC or let them have the party and the "Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party" should form a viable third party.

This BS of trying to embrace all factions of the Democratic party isn't working. If we can't expose them for what they are (neo-con lite) then let them have the party and move on (pun intended).

I bet if the DLC were openly in control of the DNC many current Republicans who are disgusted with the neo-cons who have hijacked their party would join up. If so, a third party might just have a chance to make a difference.

In my never-to-be-humble opinion, it would have to be a new third party. The Green Party, with it's Nader connection, has too much baggage.
