Imperial Hubris: read right wing reaction on amazon
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1574888498/qid=1102182003/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/102-5594864-2239334?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

i'm only posting this b/c i think it's funny. i haven't emailed amazon to take down the manic reviewer. so i post this here for your entertainment.

i was shopping last night on amazon and pulled upo the book Imperial Hubris and started reading the reviews. the first few were dry, reasoned thoughts on the book. then i came to this :

Those putrid, culpable liberal kunts who've been mendaciously--yet ultimately stupidly and unconvincingly--disguising themselves as "conservative" so they can fool the even more catastrophically naïve and unobservant in liberal circles need to be publicly unmasked and derogated, so they don't simplistically assume, like the knuckledragging troglodyte imbeciles they are, their charade is actually fooling anyone. It's disparagingly impertinent that the liberals disguised as a "conservatives" pretend to know the one-star reviews come from conservatives since most one-star posts are OBVIOUSLY highly satirical jeers done only to annoy the most noxiously gullible and backwards of liberal Neanderthals; the crying shame that liberals are vengefully reacting to pretend to be conservatives to "counteract" that imaginary threat is the most despairing disgrace liberals have committed since choosing Vietnam slanderer and coward Kerry to run! The liberals disguised as conservatives are only ineptly assuming the one-star reviews come from "conservatives", sentencing that they alone are the mentally imbalanced who conspiratorially mobilize partisan rhetoric, which is spurred by hallucinatory paranoia of their idolatrous book being assailed.

this guy has posted about 10 bogus review with one star. i'd love to hear your thoughts -- mine was, i liked that the bogus reviews have been left up b/c it shows the stupidity and meanness of the fascist right.

go to the link and read for yourself. what do you think?

1. "Disparagingly Impertinent"? "Catastrophically Naive"?
I think this guy received his English degree from the "School of Inserting Large Words Randomly to Make Your Writing Seem More Intellectual".

5. it's like he flipped thru an ann coulter book
and just randomly strung phrases together. he probably thinks he's a real brainiac for being so wordy.

it's tasty stuff -- go to the reviews on the site -- his earlier posts are even better!

3. LOL...Whats his point...
That the author hates liberals?

I hope they leave the review there. This is the kind of offending garbage that reasonable people need to see just how hateful the rhetoric of Rush/Hannity/Coulter propaganda crowd is spewing.

10. "liberal communist revolutionary psychopaths"
Only a liberal's communistic/socialist/revolutionary ideology permits them to sink so low as to imitate conservatives so to pretext that a book attacking foreign policy, traditional conservative strongpoint, has sympathizers from within their party, exaggerating its validity. That reeking devil who reprimanded conservatives endorsing "imperialistic" foreign policy must have been brainwashed by the Pat Buchanan School of Anti-Semitism. All this double-dealing chicanery damns liberal communist revolutionary psychopaths as the worst falsifying, scheming, unprincipled, shameless, degraded miscreants without a conscience whatsoever and no sane limit on how low they'll stoop to impose their perilous ideology of mental illness!

13. LOL... thats repugnacious
That doesn't suprise me at all. I work with 2 of them like that, they worship and idolize Rush, and although we have a fairly good working relationship, the stereotypes surface from their mouths daily. Traitor is their favorite word.

8. more from reviewer: "no solutions, beyond selective extermination"
Americans are under siege domestically from fundamentalist liberal radicals and from outside by the fundamentalist UN and fundamentalist Europeans. Facts don't matter to these savages either.

The fight is against liberalism. I saw no solutions, beyond selective extermination, discussed in the book. I'd like to think there are more options. Life isn't a math problem, there are always multiple correct solutions.

12. To be fair, that book probably fries freepers' brains.
Edited on Sat Dec-04-04 01:58 PM by nightperson
A CIA guy sounding so much like a DUer, what with all the impertinent discussion of Israel, energy conservation, isolationism ("we must unflinchingly let foreign dragons devour each other without expending American lives, treasure, and self-respect on an endless series of fool's errands."), etc.... I think it's a shame the Kerry campaign didn't seem to make much use of that book.

This one: 16
Hemmingway 4

This one: 6
Hemmingway 3

Sentence complexity (100 = very complex)
