Saw something chilling... (fundamentalist teen rally - "murder/kill")
I just came across a program on TBN (a religious fundamentalist TV network) that gave me chills.

It was a giant auditorium filled with teens (several of which on stage were wearing military like clothing). At least 200 teens were probably in the audience - and that's my guess with out a wide angle view. They had music playing. One speaker came up and started screaming (literally) about the evil gays/liberals, in which the camera kept switching to the teens in the audience (they comprised 99% of the audience) most of which looked literally like zombies screaming, dancing, etc to what this guy was saying.

The teens they had on stage in military clothing had faces that were of a VERY angry/aggressive nature. Like chilling killer like expressions.

After that the crazy shit REALLY started.

A second preacher came out on stage holding a long sword. (yes, literally) Except THIS psycho associated liberals/gays/etc with satan and at several points screamed "MURDER KILL YEAAAA!!!" while waving around the sword. At the same time the camera kept showing the audience members and teens on stage, either screaming yea, nodding yes, or dancing with the same angry facial expressions to his murder/kill cry.

The preacher said they needed to conquer the media, the government, and a host of other things. His media message was essentially to destroy all opposition media and replace it with their own.

It was some of the freakiest shit I have seen in a long time. All I could think while watching was "dear god, they're bringing back the hitler youth". I don't know the background behind this little get together, but I'd like to find out more about it. Obviously they collected some VERY seriously disturbed teens to program.

1. There are a lot of insane people on this planet and I suspect you were
watching some of the most seriously affected. And a preacher using religion as a justification for murder? You need to find out what the hell this was and get ahold of someone in law enforcement. This is the first step to Kristalnacht (I know I didn't spell that right). The Night of the Broken Glass.

Oh my, I am so afraid for my poor country.

3. Looked at the TBN web site
Edited on Sat Dec-04-04 10:28 PM by Lu Kang
I believe the program was called "The Ramp" this is the description they have of it: http://www.jc-tv.net/programs/index.php?60

"Webster's dictionary defines a ramp as "A platform that takes you from one level to the next". This program visits a major youth center called the "RAMP" that has tapped into God in a fresh, exciting way. Tune in and share in this stirring half hour of praise and worship, drama, testimonies as well as, a fresh look into the Word of God and how it applies to us in today's world. Don't miss this opportunity for you to move to the next level in your walk with God. "

No need to contact law enforcement, as this network is broadcast nationwide in all 50 states. Obviously they are getting bolder and don't care what they say.

4. But to scream for the deaths of people who disagree with them is
a hate crime. This is nothing different than advocating the beheadings that are going on in Iraq, only in this case they think they have the right to wave the sword.

5. I don't know what to tell you
Edited on Sat Dec-04-04 10:37 PM by Lu Kang
but if you search the net the guy who owns the network, paul crouch, (which again, is broadcast in all 50 states) is quoted as saying this on Nov 7th 1997 on a show called "praise the lord"

"God, we proclaim death to anything or anyone that will lift a hand against this network and this ministry that belongs to You, God. It is Your work, it is Your idea, it is Your property, it is Your airwaves, it is Your world, and we proclaim death to anything that would stand in the way of God's great voice of proclamation to the whole world. In the Name of Jesus, and all the people said Amen!"

It's not surprising if this is the network owners attitude it be reflected in the programming. To the best of my knowledge the feds did nothing.

The fact that they are getting together teens to send this message to, however, is truly disturbing. They are the ones who can have their mind warped the best.

6. Then if it's come to this, we as a society are dead in the water. And
if one of these kids commits a crime motivated by the words of one of these lying bastards who are not in the 'business' for the Lord, but really in it for the money and power they can garner for themselves, they should be tried right along with them.

it was the limbah-humbug, cnn/foxnews, cbs/nbc/abc etc anti government blather during clinton era that convinced returned gulf war vet mcveigh (in his own words) that only a massive terror incident was needed to cause an popular uprising.....mind you the bomb at okc wasn't the device mcveigh and the others built but something the nazipoos planted (the nazipoos knew about the mcveigh plot, it was hardly a secret, and lihop or rather mihop-ed it, using one of those fuel air compression bombs- some army veteran who was nearby said he felt the static affect the fuel air devices creates moments before they ignite) there was a link to info about oklahoma city but lost it due to puter crash....it contained article called 'the mannlicher-carbano (truck) bomb' and can be found with google...tim mcveigh, like the KAL 007 shootdown case in '83, is already forgotten for most part, but US history hardly makes sense when these type events are painted out of the picture

10. Hm, I'd say this calls for a preemptive strike
Seeing as how they've said they want to hurt and kill us, aren't we, using Bush's logic, entirely justified by taking care of them first?

i'm only being a little bit facetious.

I say it's time to start bashing some heads.

Call the network and find out where this stuff broadcasts from, and where this nutcase is located. The contacted the AG's office in those locations and file a complaint.

18. If It wasn't called 'The Ramp'
it's a show called 'Harvest'....

'Harvest with Greg Laurie is a youth program that targets ages 30 and under young people with a combination of preaching and personal evangelism. The program is based on the Harvest Crusades that are held throughout the nation each year.'

http://www.tbn.org/index.php/2/4/p/47.html

u got my curiosity now with the so called chants of 'MURDER', or whatever...

that DOES sound creepy. Got to check it out.

25. Contradiction, you say?
Edited on Sun Dec-05-04 05:08 AM by theHandpuppet
As a society we're so full of contradictions right now I feel as if I'm living in some alternate universe with my head spinning faster than Linda Blair possessed. But the question I keep asking myself, over and over, is WHY is this society -- which in the scope of things is so blessed -- so angry? Where does all this anger and violence and hatred, like that being preached on the "religious" cable networks, come from? Why are we so in love with war, with guns, with relentless macho posturing (I saw a bottle-sucking toddler in the store yesterday dressed in full camo!), with violence of every sort imaginable? What the hell is wrong with us, this nation which is supposedly one of the most church-going nations on the planet and whose predominate religion worships the "Prince of Peace"? Have we all gone stark raving mad?

http://216.239.63.104/search?q=cache:jnw7bs0HPJUJ:www.myfortress.org/PaulCrouch.html+paul+crouch&hl=en

Paul Crouch is the owner and founder of the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), and through this network he is probably responsible for the spread of more heresy than anybody in the history of the church.

Paul Crouch is now battling allegations that he had a homosexual encounter several years ago with his old employee. I have posted some relevant quotes from the shocking L. A. Times article below. I am simply quoting the L.A. Times article and leave it up to you to decide the validity of the allegations.

Paul Crouch claims that Christians are little gods. He fleeces the flock of God repeatedly on his Praise-A-Thons promising miracles to people that give money. Paul Crouch even let Bishop Clarence McClendon tell people to donate on a credit card that they couldn't pay off so that God would erase the debt on it. Paul Crouch called this heresy and fleecing a "Rhema Word!" Where is our anger for this?

Where is our anger when Kenneth Copeland is on TBN with Paul Crouch calling God "The biggest failure in the bible!" Where is our anger when Joseph Good is on TBN saying that Jesus was not God? Where is our anger when Benny Hinn is on TBN with Paul Crouch threatening people with curses? Scripture is fulfilled before our very eyes:

"The Purging of the Heathen Buddhists"
Watch as Buddhists turn from their wicked witchcraft and come to Christ.

&

"God Loans me Money"
A female fundie's tale of how God has personally called her into service by putting money into her checking account and buying her several cars and a large estate. (yes, literally)

These aren't the exact program titles, but they are the basic gist of two shows I've seen aired several times on this network. If you can bear to watch this mindless drivel for a few minutes you are bound to catch something appalling.

29. Acquire the Fire - this was the conference you were watching
Swords are the new big thing with these religious fanatics. They justify having them on stage based on 1 Corinthians 13 which speaks of the "Sword of the Spirit which is the word of God," and also those ministries into Joel's army use them a lot. Rick Joyner - head of Morning Star Ministries in NC brings out a large sword on the stage (supposed to be like Excalibur). These nuts confuse their Arthurian legend with Christianity. It's all about "warring in the spirit." Many of these ministries call themselves a "warring people." They are meaning spiritual warfare, but all it will take is one mentally unstable person to think God is telling them to actually use the sword. These kinds of events are like magnets for kids who don't fit in and who have serious troubles. They trade their addictions to drugs for an addiction to God. They seek to combat the fact that they have never fit in by being Jesus Freaks, but they are still messed up and need help, but they won't get it, because they are praised for being "on fire for the Lord." I have witnessed this first hand. The preachers get all excited because the kids are so "on fire" but really the kids are screwed up and need help.

31. Yeah, a preacher in Colorado Springs used a sword on a Pokemon doll
in front of a bunch of 9 year old Sunday schoolers. He also torched some Pokemon trading cards. Evidently he didn't want his young followers to play with Pokemon stuff because the Pokemon can evolve from one form into more advanced forms, and as we all know, evolution is bad :eyes:

So, with his own 9 year old son as his assistant, he took a 38 inch sword to an 18 inch plush Picacchu doll. It made the papers for a few days and I believe he was threatened with child endangerment charges for wielding a weapon around so many little kids. Nothing was ever filed, though, and he was pretty embarassed by the public backlash.

35. Swords are supposed to symbolize "Army of the Lord," spiritual warfare,
warring in the spirit, etc. The use of swords is very commonplace nowadays among ministries that accept the latter rain doctrine. Followers of this doctrine believe Joel's army (the army described in the prophecies of Joel) to be this great end-times army of believers, but inactuality what the bible describes is an army of locusts which represents God's judgement. Anyway, the people who believe that we are in the last days who believe this doctrine, believe that the prophecies of Joel 2 are coming true now, so they brandish swords, wear camouflage, play war chants in their worship services, etc. Creating this huge warlike atmosphere. Gone is the Prince of Peace, whom these people were never comfortable with. No they believe that Jesus is returning as a warrior king. Their's is a very different Jesus than the Jesus worshiped by mainstream Christians, or really Christians of any other generation. My personal belief is that these are like those spoken of in new testament prophecy which states that in the last days people will chase after false Christs. These people believe in a false Christ which bears no resemblance to the Christ of the Bible.

who are the problem. These good folks are the "heartland", and we need to figure out how to tailor our message to "reach" them. We mock them, and their obviously deeply held faith, at our peril. Rather, we should ask ourselves how we can change the satan-loving, anti-religious positions of our party so that we can better appeal to this important, sword-wielding, insane, rage-filled Christian youth audience.

40. peart
The night is black, without a moon.
The air is thick and still.
The vigilantes gather on
The lonely torchlit hill.

Features distorted in the flickering light,
Faces are twisted and grotesque.
Silent and stern in the sweltering night,
The mob moves like demons possesed.
Quiet in conscience, calm in their right,
Confident their ways are best.

The righteous rise
With burning eyes
Of hatred and ill-will.
Madmen fed on fear and lies
To beat and burn and kill.

They say there are strangers who threaten us,
Our immigrants and infidels.
They say there is strangeness to danger us
In our theatres and bookstore shelves,
That those who know what’s best for us
Must rise and save us from ourselves.

Quick to judge,
Quick to anger,
Slow to understand
Ignorance and prejudice
And fear walk hand in hand.
