regarding the chimp and the christian taliban? It is coming on in a few on Sundance, and I do not want to watch it, if it puts a positive spin on those fanatics. TIA.

I saw the documentary, and read the book. It shows them as humans, many of them well-meaning, and misses many opportunities to insult them. You might not want to watch it.

and it's really objective, in the sense it allows these freaks time to speak for themselves directly to the camera, and allows the normal people opposing them the same courtesy.

Really, this could have been a really great attack piece on the fundies, but instead they just did an informative, factual documentary about them. Don't waste your time.

3. I would say it shows them for what they are

I remember being extremely angry watching their antics on film. It doesn't sit around and call them names; instead, it uses their own statements to show what they are really about.
Worth watching IMO

4. I saw it as well...

and although the original intent of the film was likely to shed positive light on the "moral majority," I think it did just the opposite. Kind of like Archie Bunker - people enjoyed watching him mostly because they were making fun of his ridiculous beliefs, not because they could relate to him. That's the way I took it, though - it was pretty disturbing.
