9. You know, at this point
I almost wish that we had run a candidate that I didn't feel really great about, just so I wouldn't feel so bad after he lost. I mean, I was anti-Bush and all, but I think I was even more motivated by being pro-Kerry. I got really emotionally invested in this campaign--I was so about the possibility of having someone that I could actually respect. I mean, I felt about John Kerry like I felt about the presidency when I was little, you know? Like, someone who runs our country because he actually cares about our country and because he's smart enough to fix things.

And then, of course, the polls were so close that I really thought we were going to win, so instead of election being like a "yeah, well, we knew that was gonna happen" it was an actual disappointment.

So I guess in some weird way I would rather have had a bad candidate that I knew would lose, instead of such a great guy that I really wanted to win.

But, then again, as long as I'm changing the past, I don't see why I don't just wish for John Kerry to have won the election in the first place.

I mean, come on! Look at them! Grr... Now I'm just getting mad all over again.

12. That's pretty much how I feel
Kerry and Edwards are so classy, and during the convention and the debates, I felt that they were president and vice president. My Mom always told us when we were feeling down that "things usually happen for the best." I'd really like to have the ability to feel that way.

and I felt the same way about Al Gore - I had liked Gore since Clinton selected him back in 92. I always thought what a great president he'd make.

And to have 2000 stolen away just because that lucky * had his brother as governor in Florida to steal it for him - g'rrrrr!

Glad to see Elizabeth looking so good and smiling! Even bigger than the heartbreak of losing the election was the news of her having breast cancer.

34. Totally agree, I'm still not over it...they need to...
...reform the electoral process to allow for real debates so a candidate like JK, that has a extensive record of great causes could get beyond sound bites and get deep into some real issues.

I saw this great program on "Now with Bill Moyer" about the behind the scenes of the debate process and some surprising stuff that most don't know about. They talk about the league of women voters running the whole process in the 70's and 80's and how much better it was. It was changed forever in 96. Really interesting and informative stuff. Here's the link...

15. They could have changed the world but
this was not meant to be I guess. During the Thanksgiving holidays I spoke to a fundie cousin of mine, she believes shrub is a holy man didn't believe Kerry had any religion and beliefs.

All I can say if only....... our world would be much better with John and Theresa! I am willing to let God take care of the evil now. Trust, trust, trust and more trust.

21. and did you see what Laura was wearing?
That gawd-awful gown she had made for the Polish State Dinner a couple of years ago. The beige one with the big turquoise bow on her belly. Simply the ugliest dress she has. Washington was snickering over it when she wore it the first time.

24. I so admire Elizabeth Edwards
She's a smart, strong woman. She's make an incredible first lady or a politician in her own right. Of the four Dem's on the campaign trail this election, I think she was the smartest.

She is a bright light in this world. It was a pleasure to get to know her during the campaign. Don't you feel like you know her? I can't wait to find out what the future holds for her and her husband and how they will impact the future of our country.

had Al & Tipper been in the White House.

Then think about the mood of this country right now facing another */Cheney inaugeration rather than those four classy people.

I really is quite depressing.
