RIP... :(

on edit: I don't think these four from Sunday are included in this icasualties.org list. If not that brings it to 20 dead in December.

~snip~
Insurgents also targeted U.S. soldiers. Two were shot and killed during a patrol in Mosul's Palestine neighborhood.

Earlier in Mosul, two U.S. soldiers were killed and four wounded when their patrol came under attack, the US military said on Sunday.

The DOD is certainly not making it easy to keep track of the dead soldiers.

1. Well, I guess our assault on Fallujah
didn't break the back of the resistance as planned. Any other bright ideas Mr. Bush?

2. The news sources report it confusingly
they don't really give totals - just keep vaguely referring to two here, two there, etc. and not saying if they are talking about the same soldiers or not. As of last night, I thought that two U.S. soldiers total had been killed all weekend, then this morning I heard eleven, now sixteen. I don't know if they're trying to obscure the numbers or what's going on. This doesn't even begin to address the number of Iraqis killed, of course.

Does this include the 3 killed today? I have the total at 1273.
