9. Well, the little turd-waddler basically said the same thing
about all of us, so it was pretty Democratic.

5. Good for them and their criticism of the press
It's welcomed. The truth is welcome. We need names like these to speak out every day.

Is Morely Safer retired?

to the press, but that is typical for a TV journalist.

The main point that Vietnam was not as bad can be expanded.

Making blood enemies of Arabs is worse. Making a religious challenge and imperial challenge to the entire Muslim world if not the major oil producing nations has toppled all the psychological dominoes. Doing Sharon's dirty work with nary a speck of effort for the Palestinian peace process is worse. Occupying and stealing an entire country for its resources with no pretext of defending north from south is worse.

The weapons and long term effects are worse. The propaganda and lies are worse. The ideological, national defense arguments for "our" actions are hypocritically obscene compared to the Cold War logic even.

The only thing the same so far are the quieted casualties and the high numbers of civilians slaughtered for their own good. And so far, as in the early days of Vietnam, the intrepid news reporters are dying to no purpose regarding the dissemination of the truth.
