Kerry is going to the funerals.
Haven't heard much about it - but I've seen pictures of him going to the funerals.

He spoke for peace once before - maybe he can do it again. We need someone up at the top.

1. I admire Kerry quite a bit....
Going to the military funerals is something that Shrub does not have the dignity to do.

If he runs again in '08, I will vote for him.

4. Did you see him in the Documentary on PBS called
"Be Good, Smile Pretty" talking to the family of the vet that had died on the River.

I know a lot of people think he's a rich phony - but I don't. I think he really tries to do what he thinks is best. And I think that is a very rare thing among politicians.

6. yes i saw it
he was so good with the daughter of his friend who died in the war. he really is the type of person you can just go up to and ask anything or even just get a hug from. there is a reason the guys who REALLY served with him are still close to him.

the rich phony is Bush who tries to act like he is some "regular" guy but in reality has gone through life on his family connections and money. and he acts like everything he has in life is a result of the work he did and he thinks those who are struggling do so because they are lazy and it's their own fault.

Kerry on the other hand admits to having priviledges that many others don't have. his own family wasn't wealthy as his dad was a foreign service officer in the military, but he had an aunt who paid for his education. and of course he married some rich women. but he knows he didn't work for that money and that most americans do work hard and struggle just to get by. and he has worked for them his whole life and will continue to do so.

7. that's what i admired about him
when he first became the nominee i thought i was going to have to hold my nose to vote for him...for many reasons which there is no need to list here

but the more i read about him and learned about him the more i realized that he was a man who understood and recognized his privilege and devoted his life to public service, when he easily could've become some CEO or high level executive and made a fortune (despite the fact that he married into one...)

i still disagreed with some of his policies (not liberal enough! ha!), but i have a great amount of respect for him as a man

16. I know this is off the subject.
But, I couldn't help to notice the "By All Means Necessary" album cover photo you have! I am a huge KRS-One fan, and to me, he is the "Greatest of All Times"!

5. Kerry is a decent man.
How Repubs can claim he is out of touch is beyond my comprehension. He actually does touch people, unlike the cretin in the Monkey Palace.

9. There will be a lot more funerals
More than any mortal can attend because he was not prepared to fight predictable fraud and a treacherous media climate. I know this is unkind but I really don't care who attends my funeral should I again come under a ludicrous anthrax attack for the sake of Bushco.

My union job is probably in jeopardy. My health, my life, my family, and friends. My nation, human future, the world. People I know relocating to the quagmire zone in Iraq. My party that has become insipidly vacant at the top.

If it is a contest between who kneels at which graves(eg. Raygun at the SS Cemetery) I hope our side wins, but being Underground I really won't be able to care.

We need to fight the real battle. Then you can bury me with dignity.

10. I don't think you can blame all of the world's sins on Kerry.
He got more votes in this election than any other candidate except for G. Bush.

Maybe its safe to say that Karl Rove beat him. But if you have to fight the battle the way Karl Rove does then I am out of the fight. Demolishing the opposition with lies and innuendo is not something I want any part of. And if Kerry had done that I would not have voted for him.

11. Kerry has joined the
ranks of the victims. That is NOT what we needed although certainly that makes us truly closer where it counts.
NO, by no means BE like the crooks. You CATCH and prosecute them. No one can get it in their thick skulls that these people are villains not legitimate anything by virtue of being "king of the hill". They could have been crushed by firm and intense application of law and revelation, but that task has not been allowed to be taken up by anyone in any way.

It was VERY hard to get Nixon held to account when democracy was much much stronger and Democrats had multiple advantages they were cautious about using(but raised antagonism of the RW anyway so why the pious wilting lily approach?). Weakness before crime IS a crime too if the people doing that are not simple victims but leaders and civil functionaries with WAAAY to much respect for their professional peers who just happen to be revolting criminals destroying our institutions for venal profit.

What does fighting mean? It means finding a just way to win, not going half way when the nation will go down ALL the way. Pragmatic philosophy as the DNC often employs DOES betray principle already and does play into the accusations of the GOP, but pragmatically it is worse than ineffective. I am sure any attempt to get WORSE than what we are would be even more publicly disastrous so no one should be tempted.

Truth, law, clever strategies. Firing up the nation. What is wrong with that if you can do it? One could have dared to take it all down. Fear and caution and hoping for the margins has cost the world everything. Hobbling our skills and words and actions has rendered those who would lead as mere collaborationists for the gravedigger. WHY was that necessary at all? Much better a full court press of the mind and heart. At least then one tried ones best for the best of America.

13. Until he smacks down John O'Neill and the Gravy Boat Vets, he is not
a viable candidate, imo.

14. and I applaud him for it
When you bury your child, your spouse, your parent...for a war that didn't need to be fought.....someone in government should stand along side you and watch the body be lowered into the ground...to watch your face at it contorts in pain from the thud. thud. thud. of dirt hitting the cold, hard casket.. and making a hollow sound...the same hollow sound that now rings in your heart...... that will continue to ring in your heart. forever.

No more roll call. No one there to answer.
