22. Bush the Miserable Failure spent more time protecting his Saudi cronies
in the Bin Laden family than he did protecting us from terrorism, and 911 was the result of his Miserable Failure.

It should be called "Bush's Miserable Failure Day". These people are shameless beyond belief.

5. I guess he had to slap two different names on the day...
...so he could remember that he'll be visiting wounded troops for the first time!

Photo-Op-Patriot Day.

George W. Bush, not even a summer soldier--a summer deserter!

14. Where and when is he visiting wounded troops?
Will the troops be appropriately sedated so they don't say or do anything critical of Bush and his policies?

10. The original "Patriot's Day". . .
Edited on Fri Sep-05-03 04:20 AM by Journeyman
The little Shit hasn't the imagination granted a rock -- it figures, he had to steal a holiday to make a name for himself.

Patriot´s Day

Which day? --Third Monday in April

Earliest Observance? -- 1894

Demographic Practice? -- Northeastern States

This meticulously researched narrative history brings to life the American Revolution--the battles, the treacheries, the drama, and the dynamic personalities of the men who forged our freedom. Patriot's Day commemorates the battle of Lexington and Concord which were fought on April 19, 1775.  Part of the history of this famous revolutionary battle was the midnight ride of Paul Revere and William Dawes.  The Sons of the American Revolution in Massachusetts were largely responsible for the official recognition of the event.

Today only  a few states recognize the holiday; however, its celebrations are known by many.  Besides several reenactments of the famous midnight ride, there are other festivities including professional baseball games and the running of the Boston Marathon.

15. Another Reason I Love My German-Printed Calendar
Last year the little shit declared Sept 11 "Patriot Day" and my current calendar doesn't have it printed on it.

"Patriot Day" my fucking ass. This makes me so angry I can't fully express the distaste and rage declaring a day when thousands of people met horrible deaths as a fucking holiday makes me. Next year, look for Sept 11 Blowout Sales.

18. The People who died on 9/11 were not patriots!
They didn't die for any cause, let alone an American one. They didn't die knowingly. They were in the wrong place at the wrong time, which makes it even more tragic.

Ever since Newt, the GOP has been hijacking the language. It must stop.

23. 9/11 will be a day to show OUR patriotism...
...a day to tell the truth to the American people; the truth about how * and his cronies in Congressional committees and boardrooms are NOT patriots. How they jeopardize American jobs, American health, American LIVES for their own personal enrichment.

September 11th is not a day to shut ourselves off from the pomp and circumstance organized by the thugs and the robber barons; it is a day to remind everyone we know that patriotism is not about acquiescence, it is about making our great country greater.

Remember, the United States was born in a revolution; and through the electoral process, we can have a revolution every two years. Let's make 9/11 about continuing the American Revolution, speaking up for real American ideals, and never shrinking from the challenges of the future.

It's trite, I admit, but it's true: if we fail to stand up for what is right, to allow the voice of liberty and justice for all to be silenced, then the terrorists have already won.
