Internet censorship
The Bush regime sent up a test balloon the other day about beginning to censor internet content. Off the cuff, it seems to me that it's a bit too late for that, however, my question is just that - Is that possible? Could they, through consolidation or some other method, actually restrict our access (much as AOL already does)?

That would be a fabulous way to put a dent in the growing Bush regime resistance movement, wouldn't it? Scary.

1. When
I could no longer trust TV "news" I turned it off. When I can't trust the net I'll turn it off. Money talks.

2. We'll have some good company in the internet censorship department
With such human rights pioneers as China and Saudi Arabia

Thank Jesus ** has his mandate so he can put a stop to people feeding the homosexual agenda by downloading Queer Eye and liberals badmouthing him! </sarcasm>

5. I think they'll frame it as "protecting our children" from internet danger
Watch for media stories of horrible things that happened to children who were surfing the net. Perverts & pedophiles & drug dealers & terrorists... The fraidy cat * lovers will eat it up and beg to have their internets censored. :scared:

4. I've been saying it since 2001, and still believe it to be true
There are very big changes coming to the Internet, unless we get very big changes in "our" government first.

They won't abolish it, because a lot of corporations make a lot of money through it. But it will be neutered.

6. "The Internet was designed to route around obstruction."
"Censorship is merely an obstruction to be routed around."

8. The internet is a fountain of pornography.
And porn has always been a major driver of technical innovation.
But we never let "values" interfere with making money.
