Rightwing nutz place blame for poorly equipped troops
where it belongs..on Clinton of course!!

Bwhahahahahahaha

"I read there are few manufacturers and they are running at full capacity. We ran out of bombs and bullets too, Mav and then there's getting the stuff there and distributed. It is a very hot zone.
bill and hill lobbed missiles at sh like they were tissues. We had to hold up going into Afghan bc we didn't have enuf munitions and bc our equip. was in such sad shape.

Our military was in very very bad shape after 8 years of those slugs. They cut the number of divisions by half. We've done an amazing job with what we had.

Most of the chopper crashes early on were due to the condition of our equipment. bill and hill left us a bucket of bolts."

1. Well, damn. If the military-industrial complex didn't outsource all
those jobs, and if we didn't give all the blood money to Halliburton, maybe we would have been able to build a bigger Army.

Also, the blame belongs on Bush. If he really did believe that the military wasn't up to the task, he should have taken this into consideration before marching into Iraq.

2. A CIC who cared about the troops would never have sent them into harm's..
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 11:47 AM by Q
...way without the proper equipment. Our soldiers are fighting and dying in Iraq for a f**king lie. There was never a need to rush into Iraq. The Bushies knew...even as they were lying about 'mushroom clouds'...that Saddam was too weak to fight back or threaten anyone. (Just a year earlier Powell and Rice said that he was 'contained' and posed no threat)

Bush* should be impeached for this alone...not only unnecessarily putting troops in harm's way...but not giving them the supplies they needed to protect themselves in combat.

3. Did they mention which party controlled Congress, which is responsible
for oversight and appropriations for the Defense Department? Also, what was Congress investigating during those years when it could have been making sure that Defense Department appropriations were adequate? Perhaps the traitors in Congress who refused to appropriate adequate funds for our military should be held accountable.

Her claim on the Afgan delay was so laughable it displayed a wide ranging ignorance.

5. On the other hand
WE HAVE THE BEST EQUIPED ARMY IN THE FUCKING WORLD. We blew the shit out of two countries in less than a year. Completely occupying one of them. Compare American loses to Iraqi loses and the numbers tell me our troops are plenty well equipped for this war.

7. Do you mean "...are NOT plenty well...."
you seem to be trying to say that we have the most equipped Army in the world-well that is mostly true but they are obviously not equipped to occupy a country. Of course the unbelieveable assumptions that were made by Rummy and Wolfoitz created that situation.

They ARE THE BEST EQUIPED ARMY IN THE FUCKING WORLD for invasions and such but obviously not for the mission they have been sent on now. Training is another thing.

11. I agree
The mistake was made not today with the lack of armor. But 2 years ago when the ignoring of the reality of the situation and firing of those who told the truth. What Rumsfeld told them the other day is the truth. In war people die. When coordinating 150,000 people fuck ups happen. That's the cold truth. We got million dollar soldiers being cut down by guys with cheap AK-47's shooting 10 cent bullets. Economically thats a bad trade off. Still even in the occupation we are slaughtering them. It's mass murder compared to ~1000 American dead. It's a little sick.

6.  Rummy's "The army you have.." quote was not an accident

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&e=2&u=/ap/20041208/ap_on_re_mi_ea/rumsfeld

this story cuts the qupte short but NPR reported that Rummy said "You go to war with the Army you have not the Army you want".

As soon as I heard it got the message-blame Clinton.

9. So let me get this straight...
Moron starts the war, rumsassfeld says we have the best and most equipped army in the world and will make it better, moron has been in power since 2001 and it's Clinton's fault?
It was Clinton's Army that got to Baghdad. However, it was morons lack of supply that screwed the troops.
It's usually the previous President who is responsibly for the organization of the current army, but it's the current prez that is responsible for it's maintenance and supply.
Short answer: morons is still a moron, and rumsassfeld is full of shit.
So what else is new. Next!

10. 41 cut the divisions These Wingers are either Stupid or Liars
http://odur.let.rug.nl/~usa/P/gb41/speeches/su92ghwb.htm

Read all 41s SOTU addys He Bragged about his MILTARY CUTS! A fact that the RusHannitys of the world would like you to forget!

"Two years ago, I began planning cuts in military spending that reflected the changes of the new era. But now, this year, with Imperial Communism gone, that process can be accelerated. Tonight I can tell you of dramatic changes in our strategic nuclear force. These are actions we are taking on our own, because they are the right thing to do.

After completing 20 planes for which we have begun procurement, we will shut down production of the B-2 bomber. We will cancel the ICBM program. We will cease production of new warheads for our sea-based missiles. We will stop all production of the peacekeeper missile. And we will not purchase any more advanced cruise missiles.

This weekend I will meet at Camp David with Boris Yeltsin of the Russian Federation. I have informed President Yeltsin that if the commonwealth, the former Soviet Union, will eliminate all land-based multiple-warhead ballistic missiles, I will do the following: We will eliminate all Peacekeeper missiles. We will reduce the number of warheads on Minuteman missiles to one and reduce the number of warheads on our sea-based missiles by about one-third. And we will concvert a substantial portion of our strategic to primarily conventional use.

President Yeltsin's early response has been very positive, and I expect our talks at Camp David to be fruitful. I want you to know that for half a century, American presidents have longed to make such decisions and say such words. But even in the midst of celebration, we must keep caution as a friend. For the world is still a dangerous place. Only the dead have seen the end of conflict. And though yesterday's challenges are behind us, tomorrow's are being born.

The Secretary of defense recommended these cuts after consultation with the joint chiefs of staff. And I make them with confidence. But do not misunderstand me: The reductions I have approved will save us an additional $50 billion over the next five years. By 1997 we will have cut defense by 30 percent since I took office. These cuts are deep, and you must know my resolve: this deep, and no deeper. To do less would be insensible to progress, but to do more would be ignorant of history. We must not go back to the days of "the hollow army". We cannot repeat the mistakes made twice in this century when armistice was followed by recklessness and defense was purged as if the world was permanently safe."
