Okay so if someone throws a drink on me |
|
then I should call the police and they will be charged with assault and battery. Give me a break that is not going to happen in the real world.

2. Pay me 14 million, and you can throw a brick at me |
|
A seven foot tall 300 pound millionaire kicking some guy's ass for a thrown drink...hmmm...I just don't agree with you on that one. Had he walked away, or even just pointed to the guy and called the ref, the guy would have been escorted out and probably fined/arrested.
Is the current result preferable to that?

Provided the "victim" files assault charges. In this case, the thrower also was in violation of the stadium's policies. There were soooo many options outside of a free-for-all.
What's your point?

if throwing a drink is assault why are there not more charges being made. I also think throwing the drink is not equal to throwing a fist but both seem to be charged as assault of equal severity.

He passed up the guy that threw the drink and went after a dude that was talking smack.

6. If a person does it in a large arena crawling with security people |
|
And with cameras recording practically every possible angle, then yes, you should let the security folks handle any aftermath of the drink-tossing.
Or, I suppose you could wade into a crowd of a thousand or so people in varying stages of inebriation and hostility and start throwing punches around. Your Darwin Award citation would make for some entertaining reading.
