So apparently Clear Channel's plan
is to buy up the AAR stations and then pressure the hosts not to talk about election fraud and whatever else they feel doesn't support Bush the way they want.
Randi Rhodes mentioned on her show today that she has been "pressured" to not discuss election fraud.(Which she promptly ignored. Thank God.)I guess on a previous show she mentioned it was Clear Channel that did the pressuring.

I thought it was suspicious when I heard Clear Channel expanding it's ownership into more AAR broadcasts. What else would a company that erects facist style billboards do except buy up the dissenting voices and force them into submission? I get it.

I suppose next we could start saying Welcome to the United States of Large Corporations.

:grr:

6. but pravda had years of terror in its history...
no one knows how many pravda employees died over the years, no one knows the cruelty that was used to create pravda, whereas foxnews and smear channel are filthy lying whores outta...what? choice? Hatred or jealousy?

4. So, if this is true, what do we DO about it?
I wondered why Randi and Malloy have been so quiet about possible election fraud. I'm glad Randi went ahead and discussed it, but what do we do???

7. They are NOT buying Air America stations.... Air America is
making deals to have the programming on Clear Channel, when CC decides it wants to dump other programming because it might make more money with AA.

Therefore, AA has NO CONTROL ultimately....it seems to have made some pretty poor dealings if the contracts allow for CC to censor them...

There are over 200 FM stations up for auction up for sale in the South and West. You think they'd try to get the funding together to buy them up before the RW preachers and weirdos get them....

I'm totally disgusted at this point.

10. how do we find these 200 FM stations?
we might need this information... maybe we can make... a DU radio station or something. get some of our unemployed DUers in red states some work and experience while 'preaching the gospel' as it were.

But is there anything we can do? Can we contact the owners of AAR and let them know we are pissed?

9. if we could buy stations....
and employ some out of work blue folk in them red states...

hell, if bev harris got a much needed handsome sum from some vocal AAR love (at around $1 a head), then peraps we can pluck some poor local stations in the South you are speaking about. and perhaps we can start to develop some homebrew talent on the off hours from AAR lineup.

seems to be a few texans on this DU board who are up a creek without a paddle, economically speaking... (i think you know who you are) perhaps if we can find a local station there, get a trustworthy system of workers, and set up a purchase maybe we can enact some interesting change. kind of like NPR without the suckitude.

12. Clear Channel and AAR should stay far, far away from each other.
This really sucks. Anyone that would put up a billboard of "OUR LEADER"...well, they're missing a few bats from the ol' belfry.
