I saw the Soldier question Rummy on CNN but NBC showed
the true story. On CNN they showed the soldier ask the question and Rumsfeld answer it in his smartass way. But when I saw the same thing on NBC I heard a roar of applause that CNN had totally edited out. Evidently the room erupted in applause when this question was asked. CNN IS EVIL.

1. When they showed it on CNN Headline News,
They had a headline saying "Rumsfeld on the Spot," and they didn't edit out the applause.

However, I don't doubt that they would do what you say. CNN's awful, and its gotten worse the past six months or so.

2. Has any of the media aired Rummy's response?? Even Air America
didn't air what he said right after the question was asked!!

I heard it on the BBC World Service this morning...and so did a friend I just talked to...

Rummy basically said "You can't ask for the war you want to fight and you can't ask how to fight it."

It was the most ARROGANT thing I have ever heard him say. They should have rioted right there!!

I bet it's still up somewhere on the BBC site...Newshour.

4. They played that right after the question with no pause
I had the impression that he immediately answered the question. On NBC after the applause died down, he said several things before the statement about going to war with the army you had not the one you wished you had, so CNN did some nice editing for the Pentagon.

3. They played it on NPR this morning
but I don't know if the applause was played or not (only half listening.)

5. They showed the applause and the response on ABC
Only watching this AM to get some weather, so I was surprised to see the clip, and to hear Rummy's lame answer.

"So we have, what, a horse and two guns left? Let's go invade Canada!"

The soldier's name is Wilson, I believe, with the Tennessee National Guard. The 278th supports him as do his ex and many of us in Tennessee.

Hey brave soldier :yourock:

8. If we know their names, so does Rummy
His ass is grass.

Were there other questions? I asked on another thread and have not gotten an answer...Channel 2 earlier showed the applause edited version and Rummy's arrogant response - all snipped closely, the whole thing lasts about 5 seconds. Makes the soldier appear out of line and Rummy answering a real answer. I know there was applause Ch 2 didn't quite catch all of it.

Someone had a 2nd question about contracts/extensions...?

7. Rummy would have had no need for a smartass answer had the welcome
have been with bouquets of flowers.
