16. It was Pelley and it may as well have been a Faux News interview. |
|
I was disgusted. "But you signed a contract..." He read the San Angelo, TX kid letters from his hometown paper saying he should be shot.
He told the guy who was denied conscientious objector status after Afghanistan that he was contracted to follow orders.
When the fellow said he was also bound to not obey illegal or immoral orders and that the invasion was basically an illegal and immoral order, Pelley had the freaking GALL to say "I've been to Iraq...I've been in the mass graves...people with their hands tied and shot through the head. You don't think it was worth it?"
You STUPID piece of commercial shit! NO! It most certainly WAS NOT worth it! Where is your indignation that your president lied, you worthless excuse for a journalist?! Where is your investigation of THAT?! Where was your piece on your president's desertion during wartime?!
Sorry for yelling. Also sorry I watched that bullshit. :grr: :grr: :grr:

to shake that ol' "Liberal" label they've (allegedly) been carrying for years!!!
with Rather out the door, and Wallace and Rooney and the old heads a couple years from retirement, look for them to become CNN/FAUX-lite

24. Well, they showed two guys in Canada and their attorney |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 08:55 PM by buddyhollysghost
who is handling their cases before the Canadian authorities.
Both guys left due to the immorality of the war.
I believe Pelley per another poster was the interviewer He was an ass.
The first guy wanted to go to Afghanistan but not Iraq.
Pellie read some LTTE from the kid's home town, stating that these folks want to shoot him.
Then Pelly turns around and is shown asking the lawyer how he will prove that the kid will be persecuted. ( DUH!!!!!!!Reporters are so GD stupid! Didn't those LTTE's just make the case DUUUUUUUHHHHH!!!!)
Anyhoo, wish Pellie Boy asked the tough questions of Bush and his Gulag, but no, he hounded these kids like they were fresh meat. Both held their own.
The second kid was with the 82nd. He realized he didn't want to kill, so asked to be put in noncombat. They say he doesn't meet concientious objector status so basically were going to force him back into combat. ( Thanks AWOL George, you cowardly motherfucker - YOU go fight for this kid, since you're such a badass!)
So the kid said, screw that and moved his wife and child to Canada. ( He resembled a young John Kerry). Pellie was an ass to him as well, but the kid firmly and gently held his own. He said he took an oath to uphold the Constitution, not to engage in offensive, pre-emptive war.
"What use is there in being a martyr" the kid asked, when Pellie said he should do the honorable thing and go back and be prosecuted. "Why should I be punished for doing what's right"
The attorney was a Viet Nam era dodger himself, and said he had received around 60 calls from AWOL soldiers wanting out.
Edited to get the asshole 60 minutes dude's name correct. Blah!!!

Made me kind of sad...:(
And that damned interviewer...I'd love to see his response if somebody handed him a gun, shipped him to a place that posed no threat to us, and put him in the position to kill innocent people, all because of a piece of paper.
The first kid said it was a contract with the devil, and he was 100% right.

he kept repeating the same thing over and over again to these kids. Hounding them with it. I thought they did pretty well considering the questioning style.

Just confess your sins and repent and you are as clean as a bleached bone. No need to see the bloodlust over there. Graham's Jesus doesn't give a damn about maimed Iraqi babies or grieving American mamas. Right, Billy? Your Jesus is a cruel son-of-a-bitch the same as you?
Doesn't Billy Graham realize he is shielding Satan's handiwork
